Re: R1 Setting
Anxious to find the answer. A recent post said it should be small (forgot value), but I've found that max power output is when it's cranked up max to 4vp-p. On Aug 27, 2016 10:41 PM, "Marty Boroff

R1 Setting
Someone very kindly provided step by step instructions for calibrating the 49'er VFO which I followed faithfully when I completed my VFO kit. I lowered the peak to peak voltage as low as I could when

Forty-9er PCB ver2.1
I am in the process of putting parts on the board and noticed that there is an extra resistor on the ver2.1 board next to the C8 capacitor. The board indicates it to be a 1Meg. I have not been able to

Re: Forty-9er Transmitter
Thanks for the info on switching out Q6 (8050) for a 2N3904, Marc. Have done that and Q6 works cooler now. Interesting the 8050 must have been cheaper as the 2n3904 is a very commonly used device.

Re: DDS board
Just a quick correction, my call is W2ROW not K2ROW. It happens that K2ROW is my XYL but it was I who did the mod :-) As near as I can tell, the original 49er design did have offset built in but that

Re: DDS board
Mike: I suggest that you look at the very fine software modification for Rx offset from K2ROW in this group's Files section. The original software did not allow for a very effective offset on

Re: Power supply for the transceiver
I've never actually sat down and calculated the power consumed by the 49er in transmit mode, but I would think that supply would work fine. If anyone has the actual current draw, I think all of us

Re: Power supply for the transceiver
I picked up a small wall mount supply 12VDC 860ma, is this sufficient to drive the 49er and the VFO circuits. I am pretty sure I will be fine on the 49er, but don't know what the VFO boards will draw.

Hi Karl, I'm not sure if merging two pieces of open source software together merits publishing in QST! But if there is interest, I can upload the code to the Files section. Needs a little cleanup
