Re: Test Equipment

Yes I think I paid $120ish for it.
Just ordered the 350mhz one with SA functions.
Looks to have tracking generator function because is shows Bode plot on web.

Re: JLCPCB Price Increase

You could ask Justin AI6YM what he paid for his boards to be populated.

Re: JLCPCB Price Increase

Here's the details for 5 each of 2 different PCBs from JLCPCB:
?
Merchandise Total: $6.06
Shipping Charge: $37.10
Customs duties & taxes: $3.63
Sales Tax:$2.86
Order Total: $49.65
?
@Jerry - Probably higher shipping the east coast than west coast.

Re: Test Equipment

Hi Tim, is the Fnirsi scope-multimeter the one that costs about $90?? I've been interested in that one.? I have not seen the tablet.
?
The Fnirsi RLC tweezers are great!? I was using them recently to measure variable capacitors.

Re: JLCPCB Price Increase

Hi Jack-
?
I've never done that yet.? However, PCBWay provides that service, and they should be able to quote it.
The boards I have received from PCBWay are excellent quality.? Just a guess, their semi-finished boards will also be excellent.

Greg:

What would be your best guess if, say, the RF board were populated with all SMD parts, including IC's, but not the "standup" parts like voltage regulators, electrolytics, IDC/SMA connectors? Assume a 2-layer with 100 SMD devices on it. I have no idea.

Re: JLCPCB Price Increase

According to the shipping charges on their website, DHL is running $22.82.
In addition, "Global Standard Direct Line" is back. But not $1.50, rather
$12.69.

I think this reflects tariff costs plus the paperwork burden of the elimination
of the de-minimus exception. I suspect that the paperwork cost will decrease
over time as they automate it.

Re: Test Equipment

I have a full range of Siglent equipment however for recent Electronics merit badge I used one of these:

FNIRSI? 2C53P 3-IN-1 50MHz 250MS/s Dual Channel Tablet Touchable Oscilloscope Multimeter DDS Generator

?
They also have this:

FNIRSI? DPOS350P 4-IN-1 350MHz 1GSPS Tablet Oscilloscope Signal Generator Spectrum Analyzer Frequency Response Analyzer

?
I have used the 2C and it functions as advertised, not checked it against the lab equipment that will come later when I get a chance.
They seem well made and very reasonable.

Re: Help: Audio is pumping on bands 17 and 15.

I've got the same issue with a completed radio. It does not affect the spectrum display or the S meter, only the audio. It's confined to 17 and 15 metres. The pumping occurs about twice per second. It does not occur if the radio starts up on 17 or 15 metres direct from switch-on but starts as soon as the band is changed to one of these two bands.

And Hamvention is OVER!

We had a great time… in-doors this year. ?Sold 50 fill T41 board sets, ten 20W PAs, ten of the latest T41 books (signed/personalized editions), and many other kits. ?Suitcase is a lot lighter. ??

Jack and Al were at my booth (right across from ICOM!) Friday, and Al was there on Saturday. ?After talking to the many many people who stopped by (Thank you!) i received good information on what folks wanted/needed next in terms of kits and upgrades to the T41. ?Loud and clear. ? So partially pre-populated boards, 100W module, Antenna tuner, and multipurpose audio board with usb that passes commands and audio (sound card). ?Got it! ?All good stuff. ?

Re: Test Equipment

Hi John,
I use a two-channel Siglent SDG 2122x generator that can synchronize the channels and phase shift one by 90 deg - hence quadrature signals.
The Spectrum analyze is not entirely necessary and I would suggest trying to borrow one. Also, many of the recent digital Oscilloscopes have a built-in frequency analysis capability that should suffice.
?
If you really want a decent SA, i use the Siglent SSA3021x with TG source. Pricey, but very capable.
