Interference between two AN/SC with wireless handpad

Hi all,
last may I participated to the "Rencontres Astronomiques du Printemps" so called , a star party near Le Puy en Velay in France.
I set up my UC 22 near a very original telescope a 910mm diameter one with primary made of two meniscus spaced by a series of glass spacers everything fusioned at high temperature (see picture of the secondary on the same design). Once again I had the pleasure to enjoy a clear darksky (1100m altitude with all city light shut down for 3 nights) and wonderful views to share thank to my UC #1 AN/SC supercharge with some mods (dismountable primary stray light box and linear air flow to cool the primary).

My neighbour and I both had AN/SC and wireless handpad and were located some 7 to 10 meters apart.
I had continuously some strange behaviours of my scope that I first suspected were related to some slipping altitude cable and my neighbour had some issues too.
I checked everything the next day but everything was ok but I had the same problems again the following night. I had to leave and my neighbour stayed alone the last night and he experienced no problem anymore.
So I deeply suspect that our wireless handpads were interfering, SC 1 taking order or wireless HP 2 and vice versa.

Did anyone experience the same king of issues previously? is there any way to get around except than moving 20m or more away from anyother Wireless handpad?

Thank you for your advice.

You can change the dip switches to avoid interference on my wireless hand pad.

Frederic, Contact me direct and we can discuss what to look for re the ALT axis 'slipping'.?

As for the wireless. You mention "HP 2" ... not sure if you were saying this is a Gen2 ServoCAT system or not. The Gen2 wired and wireless HP's had only 5 buttons on them and a tiny slide switch. If that is what you have then note there are jumpers inside the HP's and internal to the ServoCAT that change the address of the system. They do not change the frequency - only an address so interference is still possible but this will help. Note all 3: ServoCAT, wired and wireless HP's all have to have the same jumper settings. To further reduce the likelihood of interference one can reduce the height/extension of the base units extendible antenna just to where it works locally with the handpad. This coupled with the address change should work fine.?

If this is a Gen3 you can change the channel used.?

Hi Gary my wireless HP is definitely this one ?in the picture, so most probably a Generation 3.
Is there somewhere in the manual indicating how to change the channel? If yes I most probably missed it.
Thank you for your help.
Clear skies Frederic

The instructions on how to change the channel were included in each box with each unit. The instructions for the base unit being slightly different from the HC unit. I'll send you a copy of it directly (also these docs are on the CD as well).

Gary?

Hi Gary,?
thanks for you reply but I have to say that having received it completely installed from Obsession, I do not have "the instructions included in the box with each unit" that you refer to. If you have a pdf version of it, it would be wonderful.
Thanks in advance,

We ship the wireless (and wired) HC's in their individual boxes - and instructions are in those boxes. OEM's are suppose to send you that.?

The docs are on the CD under "Manuals/Other Instructions"

and I sent them to you using the email address I have here - it came back with a fatal non-delivery notice.?
