Re: Nexus DSC - object selection
Hello Steve,
Most likely you have enabled a filter in catalogues.
Please go to Find->From Catalogue, press right arrow key to select ‘FILTER’ tab and change the filter to ’None’ using up/down arrow keys. That should fix the problem.
Best Regards, Serge Antonov, Astro Devices.

Something similar with the NGC catalog. Request one specific object and a different NGC object is displayed.

The first couple of objects we selected during the night were fine, no issue. But after some use, the above issue started happening.

This is a new Nexus right out the box.

Re: Nexus DSC - object selection
no need to check the front if you know you have a Gen2 handpad. The Gen2 is not compatible with a Gen3 and vice versa.

Thanks Gary for the info.
She has the Gen 2 hand pad. And it has the slide switch for 3 different speeds.
On the other hand, I have the Gen 3 on my scope.

I'll check the labels on the front of the box.

We bought this scope (used) a good number of years ago, so I am going to assume it is a Gen 2. Is there a quick way to determine the gen without opening the box? I don't want to do that in the middle of TSP. If something bad happens, then my wife will not be a happy camper this week. It is on her scope.

I have only used anArgo Navis with my ServoCat, but is it possible that the Nexus is looking for a 3 digit number for the Messier list - like 031?

Re: servocat and nexus dsc pro
You need to open ServoCAT and change three jumpers to configure it the same way as for Argo Navis - please see the attached photo. You do not need a new cable to connect the serial port on Nexus DSC Pro to the DSC port on ServoCAT.

which will include new means to connect .... but that is an ongoing program with time to be determined. Bill will annouce when its appropriate. Stay tuned!?
