How do I remove the large knobs on my RA17?

I have tried pulling them off by hand. I don't want to lever them off because I would damage the panel.

I had thought of removing the fibre wesher and and putting a small short screw under the front washer and then tightening the nut to push the shaft. I might pull the nut out.

A claw type puller to push against the centre could work if I could find one I thought as well I could wind string behind the knob and either pull or wedge it in.

Any ideas?

Lawrence, undo the centre boss using an Allen key of the correct size…1/4
inch I think.

Fully remove the plated centre boss and the delrin ring inside.

Use a short rod or dowel to push on the clutch released inside the knob
after removal of the ring. Hold the knob as you do this.

I usually just loosen the center screw then holding the knob give the screw a tap with the end of a screwdriver and it slides right off

Thanks that looks good.

I used credit cards. I wedged 2 under the knob (it fitted and would not damage) and then pressed extra cards between them.Turning the knob effectively rocked it, and it worked great.
