The Dusk Eaters - An Alternative History PBP RPG
2
The Dusk Eaters is set in the U.S. during the Roaring Twenties, just a few short months before the stock market collapse that leads to the Great Depression. Our game follows a ragtag group of outsiders with special abilities known as Gifts, just trying to make a living the best they know how: By banding together to form the Midnight Circus. What began with the intention of providing safety in numbers for the assorted outcasts that make up the Circus has grown over the years into a clannish family who would do nearly anything to protect their own. Because if the secret of the Circus ever gets out - if the townies ever learn that the tricks aren't all fake, that the magic isn't all smoke and mirrors... They'll need each other more than ever. --- The Dusk Eaters is an 18+ alternate history sci-fi game set in 1929. It's a little bit Carniv¨¤le, a little bit X-Men, and we heavily encourage leaning into all aspects of the jazz age - within reason - for influence and inspiration. This is a writing based, play-by-post roleplaying game done via Groups.io, using Discord for OOC communication. If you've never written in a play-by-post game before, it's essentially turn-based collaborative storytelling. It's pretty quick to pick up, and we're happy to help with any questions, concerns, beta-reading, etc. The same goes for if you've never used Groups.io or Discord before! Keynotes: This is an adult game with adult themes. No players under 18 without exception. This is an LGBTQ+ friendly, anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-bigot game, again, without exception. Characters may have personal opinions that differ in game, but bigotry in players is unacceptable. Joining this game is a commitment to being able to post at least once a week. Being unable to meet that commitment on occasion due to IRL reasons is understandable and something we will make room for if you reach out to us, but if you regularly find that you don't have even an hour a week to post every week, this game isn't for you. Knowledge of the late 1920s/early 1930s in the U.S. isn't required to play in this game, but interest is. We don't keep strictly to the script on history here, but it should affect your character and not simply be a backdrop that could be easily exchanged for any other setting. Original characters only. Getting inspired by other characters (either in-game or out) is fine, but your character must be uniquely yours. You must either have or be willing to use Discord and Groups.io. If all of the above is good by you and the concept strikes your fancy, please check out our website and fill out the application form below. Seeking Players interested in The Witcher
Hi all: I'm still looking for interest in writing in The Witcher setting. I definitely want somebody who is at last familiar with the Witcher setting, whether it's from the books, the Nefflix series or the games. There are a couple storylines I would like to see played, but I'm not limited to these, if you have an idea of your own. Storyline 1: A pair of Witchers have decided to travel together and share contracts, adventures etc as a team. They could be two experienced Witchers working together to take on more difficult contracts,, or a novice Witcher with a more experienced one to get much needed hands on experience. Alternatively, they can both be novices, newly graduated and ready to venture out on the Path. Storyline 2: Two youths have come to Kaer Morhen to begin training as Witchers. A chance to explore the harsh training all young Witchers undergo and facing the Trials which will turn them from ordinary human youths to mutated monster killing professionals. Storyline 3: Two characters, either Mages, a King/Queen and their Mage advisor, or perhaps a Witcher and Mage. The first two pairings could be more centered around court and typical political/courtlife, the later a mix of Storyline 1 and courtlife. Storyline 4: I'm open for suggestions, feel free to tell you your ideas and we can work out something we both can enjoy writing. A few parting statements: I'm looking for somebody who's interested in collaborating, work together in seeing storylines develop and grow and have a rough story arc in mind when appropriate. Freeform writing is fine but it's good to have at least a basic idea where things are heading in the long run. I want this to be fun and exciting for both of us, otherwise its just not worth it. I'm hoping to find a posting partner who can write quality responses at least once a week, 2-5 times a week is idea. I don't expect people to be able to write more than this but I certainly won't complain if they do. Lastly, I don't do sexual content, to be honest I just find it boring. Romance is ok...when it fits, it's just not what I focus on when it comes to writing in general.

USS Chimera
(Note, passing this on for the sim's CO) Murphy's Law: Anything that CAN go wrong, WILL go wrong. Cally's Addendum: Every problem has a solution, the question is if you'll find it in time to do any good. USS Chimera, NCC 80118, Commander Calypso Skyie commanding. A Luna-class starship in the very Northern area of the Federation, Chimera is destined to do what everyone in the Federation hoped to do when they joined up: Go into the deep darkness of space...and explore. Find new life and new civilizations. There is just one main problem: the Great God Murphy has his eye on the ship and crew, and as Darwin is his prophet, he's going to throw roadblocks in our way no matter where we go, what we do, who we meet. Whether the eclectic group of misfits who crew the Chimera are able to handle the challenge is...up for debate. The Captain is a former Marine pilot with a penchant for getting injured and the target of an Admiral's grudge. The XO until recently every engineering cadet's worst nightmare. A Chief Counselor who's still a Cadet, the single mother to a daughter and in over her head. Need we say more? Join Chimera and our crew of, let's say, "interesting" people. Currently seeking the following Positions: Chief Medical Officer Chief Engineer Chief of Operations Chief Flight Control Officer Any other desired position? Assassin: the Black Hand (play by email RPG)
This game is now underway, but there is space for an extra player or two if anyone is interested - just let me know. Thanks, Matt Assassin: the Black Hand A play by email roleplaying game Years before you knew they were true you heard the rumours. About a secret organisation of assassins, responsible for some of the most high profile and history changing deaths in the era. Some called them Angels of Death. Others, hired killers. Now you know them as the Black Hand. They have sought you out, and consider you a suitable candidate to train as an apprentice. They have offered you a place in their organisation. For your own reasons, you accepted. Now you find yourself here, in the Hall of Apprentices with other new recruits, knowing frighteningly little about your new home and those who run it. Over the coming weeks and months, you will need to survive your training, hone your craft, learn strange new skills, and find out more about your new masters and the shadowy figure that runs the Hand. If the whispers are true, plots and conspiracy are in the air. The fate of the world could hang in the balance. In ¡®Assassin: the Black Hand¡¯ you will play the role of a trainee assassin. Due to adult themes, this game is for players aged 18+ only. Your character must also be 18+. The game is open and free form, but any action with the possibility of failure (such as attacking a NPC or a PC) must be written as such. For example ¡®Darius swings his blade at the innkeeper, attempting to remove his head from his shoulders¡¯ rather than ¡®Darius cuts the innkeepers head off¡¯. The game is set in a world of sword and sorcery, but where magic is rare and mysterious. The vast majority cannot use magic, don¡¯t understand it, and are fearful of it. Major cities in the game world are Godsend, Spire, Solomon¡¯s Gate, Hammer Falls and the Wall. The world is dominated by powerful city states which vie with each other for control. Humans are the only sentient beings alive. But monstrous creatures exist in the sewers, underground tunnels and out in the wastes and wilderness. You will need to submit a writing sample, outlining how your character came to be a trainee apprentice in the Black Hand. You will have fairly free reign with this and your backstory, although some elements may need to be tweaked to fit the setting. If you have any questions, email matcolver@... To play you will also need to complete a character sheet, as below: Character sheet Name: Age: Appearance (hair length and colour, eye colour, any scars, tattoos or jewellery worn, height, weight, skin colour, attractiveness or otherwise, any other noticeable features): Strengths and abilities (any things they excel at, do well, have learnt, or have a natural inclination in): Weaknesses and limitations (everyone has some weaknesses and limitations. Perhaps they are physically weak, or have a phobia of spiders): Secrets (your character must have at least one secret that they are not usually willing to reveal): If you would like to play, email your character sheet and writing sample (your character's backstory) to matcolver@...

Boundless Sky [groups.io] [18+] [LGBTQ+ friendly] [sci-fi]
Boundless Sky takes inspiration from all corners of the sci fi genre - Firefly, the Expanse, and others - and adds our own creative twists. Climb aboard the Hellion, a light freighter with a new crew and a penchant for taking jobs just this side of legal. We're a small, 18+ sci fi game focusing on the (mis)adventures of our little crew as they make their way across the Black, and we're looking for one or two more players to join our rag-tag group of experienced writers. This is a writing based, play-by-post roleplaying game done via Groups.io, using Discord for OOC communication. We use third person past tense when writing posts. If you've never written in a play-by-post game before, it's essentially turn-based collaborative storytelling, with a strong focus in our case on the collaboration. Because this game is so small and the cast of characters by nature is so close-knit (being right up in each other's business most of the time), we need players who are eager to work together and dig into interpersonal plots as well as the overarching ones. Also because the game is so small, we do have a few must-haves in who we're looking for, aside from our emphasis on collaboration and the ability to work together. As previously stated, this is an adult game with adult themes, and no players under 18 will be allowed without exception. We are an LGBTQ+ friendly, anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-bigot game, without reservation. Characters may have personal opinions that differ in game, but we do not accept bigotry among our players. Joining this game is a commitment to being able to post at least once a week. Being unable to meet that commitment on occasion due to IRL reasons is understandable and something we will make room for if you reach out to us, but if you regularly find that you don't have even an hour a week to post every week, this game isn't for you. We have a one character limit in this game. This should make the time commitment easier, but our goal with this requirement is for our players to be able to focus entirely on fully developing this one character and how they fit into the world around them. The character you make must be a permanent fixture on the ship, the Hellion. In character, that might not be their plan - they may be using the ship as a way to get from point A to point B - but out of character, we need a plan from you to ensure that they stay on the ship. Because one of the chief goals of this game is to create a found-family situation, with characters who grow together as their story develops, we aren't looking for characters intent on being full-time loners forever. Players with sci-fi knowledge are preferred, but all we really require is an interest in the genre and a willingness to bend on hard sci-fi concepts. While we do try to make things realistic where we can, we are definitely a blend of hard and soft sci-fi. No copycat characters. You may borrow inspiration from existing characters out in the world, but at the end of the day, your character must be uniquely yours. This goes for characters in-game as well - please read each bio thoroughly before submitting your character to make sure they don't overlap with an existing character. Because this game is so small, there is no reason for characters to mirror each other too closely. We use Discord. We need you to also use Discord! This is where we do all of our plotting, chatting, most of our notifications or announcements, etc. If you are unfamiliar with Discord, we have many people who will be happy to help :) We also use Groups.io for the actual writing part of the game. The reason for this is the organization, chronology, and archiving that Groups.io provides. The platform is very intuitive but, like above, if you're not familiar with it then we'll be happy to help. But above all is collaboration! There are no supporting characters in Boundless Sky. We are creating a game where every character gets to tell their story, to grow with their new 'family' and really become something special. If that's what you're looking for too, check out our website and

Champions / Hero Games superhero rpg
11
I'm hosting a superhero game online using Champions rules. The rules are known for being crunchy but we'll help you make your character and get used to the rules. The game is a modern superhero campaign set in 2022. Right now we're using email (so people can easily play on their phones) but we have used Discord in the past and may go back there in the future. But even if you have never used Discord, email will always be enough to be in this game. It's writing only, no audio, no meet times. If you're on the fence, send me a message and I'll find a way to show you how you'll fit in. Or, just ask questions. armadillo40499@...

Dragon Age: Legacy
3
Mages, templars, darkspawn, apostates, the Chantry... Return with us to BioWare's Dragon Age setting, where you can role-play as a human, elf, dwarf, or qunari, living and adventuring in and around the city of Jader, an Orlesian port city near the border with Ferelden. It is 9:34 Dragon, three years after the Hero of Ferelden ended the fifth blight. Men's hearts may hold shadows darker than any tainted creature, but light shines there also. Our current narrative revolves around the Summerday festival (similar to Beltane) and uncovering a plot to poison Revered Mother Giselle. If you're not familiar with The Dragon Age Setting (Thedas), but a fantasy rpg with swords and magic sounds like fun, no worries. Our wiki has some starter setting info and we are a helpful and welcoming group. :) 2-2-2 rpg rating, 18+, posting is done via the Nova web-app. http://dragonagelegacy.com/ https://discord.gg/Njrxghj
