Title of Role Playing Game: Watcher's Legends

Age limit: I would prefer to have people be 18 years or older and
also act at least that age. Meaning if you are 16 but are mature you
might be let in, also if you are 40 and act like a child…well no. I
can't enforce this really but if you do continually act in a manner
befitting someone of a less mature age then you will be let go. Sorry.

Detailed Description:

We are the Watchers, a secret organization created thousands of years
ago. We know of the existence of Immortals… we watch them, record
their extraordinary lives, but we do not interfere in them. Why do we
do all of this? To learn… History is a record of change and
evolution, only by looking at it, studying it can we learn from it,
make sure we do not repeat our mistakes. Immortals are living records
of that History and from them we can learn so much…

Well now that the PR spiel is done I'll get down to business. ;) This
is a new game, hasn't even started yet. You may play an Immortal, a
Watcher, Hunter or just a plain mortal (whether they know of Immies
or are just college students curious as to why their prof looks the
same as the picture in the yearbook from five years ago is up to
you).

Now while I do have some plans for a "grand scheme/plot" I also want
you guys, the players, to be involved in plotting this game out. So
in that vein when you do join up please feel free to send in some
ideas for plots or stories along with your character bios.

I do not anticipate the game starting right away, I myself am busy
with school as I bet many of you are (or busy with other things
perhaps), so we will have time to play around with things, place
characters etc. while we are getting ready to go.


Other information: You cannot post, once the game starts, as a
character until the bio has been submitted to me and approved. You
may use a character of yours from another game if you like, but
please tweak it and add any info needed to adhere to the setup of
Watcher's Legends – it will save both you and me time if you give me
the proper information right off the bat. In that same vein please
look over the web page thoroughly, read the Rules, the History and
World sections so you can get a better feel for things.

I also would like to remind you that not everyone has to be Immortal,
nor a good guy. Please also note that the Watcher's are a secret
organization…so not all Immortals will know about them.

Once we get started I would like to see a pretty active game, posting
at least once every three days or so in an active main story line,
once a week if it is a smaller one. Please see the rules for more
info and details.

Title of Role Playing Game: More Human than Human Adult RPG

Age limit, if any: This game is for Adults of 18 years or older.

Detailed Description: The genre of the game involves superheroes,
though this particular metahuman genre strives to be more realistic
than other four color comic genres. Also, there is an element of
espionage in the game, with emphasis on conspiracies and the unknown.
This game is set on Modern Earth and uses custom created characters.

OTHER: A character bio has to be filled out and submitted to the list
owner (me) before play begins.

Title of Role Playing Game: A New Day

Age limit, if any: For this game, I am asking that you
be 21 or over, or a REALLY mature at least 18 year
old. Simply because adult situations can, and probably
will occur.

Detailed Description: It is the world as we know it,
but not. There are dark things, evil things that the
general society at large only knows of in dreams and
bed time stories. The closest the average Joe Shmoe
has gotten to the reality of our world was the 8
dollar movie he went to last week. But now the world
is changing. Things that were myths are becoming
reality. Fairy tales seem to be truth, legends are
real life, and evil... well, evil wears many faces,
and they are all BAD!!! Of course, there are as many
good faces as there are bad, for the battle between
good and evil is what makes life. But now the battles
are hotter, and evil is winning...... blah blah
blah... this is an rpg that crosses over characters
from Buffy, Angel, Highlander, La Femme Nikita,
Charmed, Witchblade, and any other sci fi characters
that might fit. The basic premise is that all these
things are real, and are now beginning to find out
about each other. Immortals are finding out about
Vampires, Witches are finding out about Slayers, and
so on... We haven't been around all that long, but we
already have some great players and interesting
storylines!

Title of Role Playing Game: The Bloody Sun

Age limit, if any: Folks should be at least 18 to
play.

Detailed Description: The Bloody Sun is based on the
Darkover books by Marion Zimmer Bradley. If you have
read them, then you know of what I speak, but if not,
here is a little blurp...
Darkover. A cold, harsh planet suprisingly teaming
with a myriad of different life forms. It sat
untouched in deep space for millions of years. 
Then a radical change occured in the form of an
emergency landing. With the sounds of alarms, screams,
and the destruction of machine and earth, a lost ship
from Terra crashed onto the surface of the planet
violently introducing humanity into the unsuspecting
world. The survivors stayed together and a colony was
born that grew into a society and they became the
people of Darkover.
Time moved on and facts began to fade into stories.
Stories became legends, and legends became myths until
finally they were forgotten all together. Any
connection with space and another planet was lost as
the people found their own way, and their own magic.
It was found that some of the population had extra
sensory abilities, and with the descovery of Star
Stones, those abilities were greatly magnified. With
close to no metals to be found, the powers of the
Comyn, those who possesed the stones and the power to
rule, became the only highly developed technology of
the planet. The rest of the population settled into an
agricultural society and mind set. Quickly powers grew
and developed as did myths of magic, Gods and
religion. An intire social infrastructure was born.
It is into that world we find ourselves thrown. A
world with mysticals powers, strange and inviting
creatures and a patriarcle, feudal form of government.
Magic and wonder rule the day for some, while the
quest for power rules the hearts of others.
Enter into this world with an open mind and heart and
you just might find truth hidden deep with in the
fiction of Darkover.

Other infomation: If you wish to join, you will need
at least a basic knowlege of the Darkover universe and
it's people. You don't have to have read EVERY book,
or know every detail by heart, but I also can't tell
you everything you need to know in an email. I have
also created a VERY user friendly game website that
gives you everything you need for joining and playing
in this game. There is even a link for joining at the
yahoogroups site!(which you will need to do to be a
part of the game)

Title: Agamemnon RPG

Age; No age, just skill.

Descrip: This club is based on Captain Sheridan's old ship, the
Agamemnon, an
Omega Class Earth Alliance Destroyer Ship. Currently on assingment to
chart the new areas that recent Jumpgates that have been installed
into, the Agamemnon isn't looking for trouble, but if it finds them,
heaven help anyone who gets in their way. Set 3 months after the
formation of the Interstellar Alliance, the original crew of the
Agamemnon was captured in an attack by the Drakh. The Agamemnon was
left drifting, and eventually found. Though slightly outdated with
the new Artifical Gravity ships like the Warlock, the Agamemnon is
still a force to be reckoned with.

Wow, these clubs are all really great. I'm actually surprised at the diversity of these RP games. They seem to be all well thought out and nicely done.

And as such, here is another one of my clubs.

Title of Role Playing Game: Dark Zone

Detailed Description: This game is based loosely (and I do mean loosely) on the Outlaw Star Universe. I would prefer that all characters submitted be Originals. Here is the introductory information...

Space. Many people find solace among the stars. Some even loose themselves in the bright glimmer of those far off lights. For many it is home, the place they were born and the place they hope to die. The stars are ageless. They have been there since before man came to be. And ever since man came to be he has reached for those stars and the promises that they hold. Man has finally reached that goal, they have finally taken to the stars. But with this new frontier also comes new unseen dangers, and a few old ones. Just like in the days of old Pirates now roam the stars preying on those who are unlucky enough to cross their paths. The Galaxy Police are doing their best, but there is still one pirate that causes them more trouble than all the rest put together. She is known simply as Viper. A dark woman who seems to have no feelings and no regard for life of any kind. That, however, is simply a facade. Deep down Viper is a very different person, but no one really knows that. She sails the stars in search of something that she lost a long time ago, even though she does not know exactly what it is she is missing. You have the choice. Join her and help her find what she seeks, or hunt her for the glory of the Galaxy Police. However, head this warning. Beware her eyes. With one look she can draw you into the DARK ZONE that was once her heart.

Other information: As with all my games, this one moves slowly but steadily. We are in need of Galactic Police, other Pirates, Merchants, etc. Any character you can think of we need. Right now all we have is what is on the ship and that is not enough.

Hello to all! I have just recently join this group and
I just wanted to say that I think the entire idea is
GREAT! Bellow I am advertising for an Amber PbeM game
that I have just started up. So, if you're interested
in the intrigues of Zelazny's Amber, check it out.

TITLE: Vaelmier

AGE LEVEL: preferably 18 years and above.

DESCRIPTION: Based on Zelazny's Amber Chronicles, this
PBeM sim takes place after the Prince of Chaos. Random
is King of Amber. Merlin occupies the throne of Chaos
with a heavy heart. Darkness is descending upon their
realms, the unknown within the Abyss stirs, and savage
storms are tearing the very fiber of shadow asunder.
War whispers upon the rising tide and the elders have
called their kin homeward bound. The very ground
beneath the golden city quakes with ominous force as
the Pattern stirs from its slumber. Will Amber survive
the new threats that lurk beyond its gates? Harken
the elders' calling, if you dare. For the fate of
reality rests in your hands.

OTHER: This is a game that will heavily involve
Amberites and Chaosites. Most 'human' shadow dweller
characters will be largely left out of many of the
intrigues of Vaelmier. But, playing such a character
is not discouraged. This is a new game, and I am
looking for players who are interested in a game that
is more into writing and character development than
rules and battling.

Also, there is no flaming, spamming, or writing of a
lewd manner allowed within Vaelmier.

Title of Role Playing Game: Jeremiah - The Lost Generation

Age limit, if any: Must be at least 18 years of age

Detailed Description: Sci-fi, based on Hermann Huppen's 1979 comic
book (which spawned Showtime's same titled series staring Luke Perry
and Malcom Jamal Warner). Below is the summary of the game straight
from the gamesite.

A GENERATION LOST
In a post-apocalyptic world following the "Big Death"—a mysterious
but devestating plague that claimed the lives of billions of people—
only the children remain.

THE FUTURE UNKNOWN
Fifteen years have gone by, and in the midst of the chaos, one man,
Jeremiah, rises above the rest to restore civility and order. He and
his companion Kurdy, must lead the struggle to uncover the buried
truth of a forgotten society to provide hope for the future.

IN 2021, ADVENTURE HAS A NEW NAME
As Jeremiah and Kurdy search for the elusive "Valhalla Sector", they
encounter their greatest fears and discover their own humanity.

Hey all! I'm Sarah. I run a few games online on yahoo, some of which I'll be posting about here.

Title of Role Playing Game: Episode II RPG

Age limit, if any: How young can a player be? The game is pretty much PG 13. Like the AOTC movie.

Detailed Description: The genre is Star Wars. Obviously. LOL The game is an AU that takes place right after AOTC ended. The storylines are sorta in flux right now, and the game doesn't really have a definite point since it's freeform.

Other infomation: If you're interested in playing a cannon character, I will need an audition from you. This is just something like a paragraph or so of your writing from your character's perspective in a situation relating to the game. I need someone to play Mace Windu, Qui Gonn, and Yoda right now, though you're welcome to join with an original character of your own creation. The game's sorta slow right now since it's going through a summer slump, so I'm looking for new people to breathe more energy into it. I don't have expectations of how often you should post as long as you let the other players know if you'll be gone for a long period of time. Your posts also have to move the SL along (well, yeah, since that's what RPing is about. LOL)

Smallville Chronicles follows the adventures of Clark Kent, Lex Luthor, Lana Lang, Chloe Sullivan, and the rest of the Smallville gang as they go off to the University of Metropolis. Sure we break from DC canon, but like Smallville doesn't do that already.



Crossovers with young heroes from Marvel and other comics are allowed, just as long as the character is modified to fit into the Smallville world.

1. Be nice to newcomers. You were one once and remember how difficult it was
to start out on your own.

2. Relax, and have fun. We all have enough stress in life and there's no need
to bring it into the game.

3. If someone is away from the game, DO NOT attack or do anything to their
character until they are back.

4. Talk to other members of your group, good communication during the game
let others know how you/they feel.

5. Play fair. Simple rule of the game. Don't try to boss your way around, if
it's not IC.

6. Don't cheat. Don't tell someone you've got a higher/ lower amount of a
trait/weapon/anything than you really have, unless it's IC.

I've found this to be helpful on some of my games, I just thought I would
share it with you.

Never use OOC information IC in any way. The best example I can give
is...just because you can see someone’s name hanging over their head in the
game, your character wouldn’t know that character’s name unless someone had
told you in-game.

Never assume someone will react in a certain way just because you think they
should. Always give others the chance to react in their own way, and don’t
get upset if the reaction isn’t what you expected.

Any action you perform on someone else’s character, no matter what the action
might be, should be phrased as an attempt. By making an attempt instead of
just doing it outright, you give the character’s player the chance to consent
to the action or avoid it if it’s something they’d rather not have happen to
their character.

Don’t try to be the center of attention all the time. Be polite and share
attention with other characters. You aren’t the only one there to have fun,
give everyone their turn in the spotlight.

Give others time to react to you. One of the strangest things I’ve noticed in
graphical online RPG’s is impatience. People will walk up, say something,
wait about 0.0001 seconds and run off. The person they talked to would barely
have had enough time to read what they said, let alone respond to it. This
also happens in conversations. People will say something, wait a very short
amount of time, then keep going as if they think the person they were talking
to didn’t hear them or isn’t going to respond. In most cases, the other
person was going to respond but simply wasn’t as fast as expected, and loses
the chance because the conversation has moved on without them. There’s no
need to hurry so much, just relax and enjoy the interaction.

Avoid god-like abilities for your characters. Rping isn’t about who can make
up the best super powers for their characters, it’s about the personalities
of the characters. Any character that is ridiculously powerful or has a
perfect personality is going to be fairly boring to RP with and will end up
being mostly ignored by others.

Never include someone else’s character in a written story that didn’t
actually happen exactly as you wrote it without letting that character’s
player proofread and approve the story before you post it.
