Locked Storing an R90s gas tank

I¡¯ve been able to procure a SS gas tank. While the exterior is a little rough, the interior is almost pristine. I¡¯d like suggestions on the best way to store the tank for 6 months or so with the aim of keeping the interior as is.?

Thanks for your suggestions.?

Scott

Pour in a small amount of ATF and swish it around. Drain extra out of petcock holes.
When you put gas in it the coating of ATF will wash out and not harm the carbs.

Of course if it has lasted 50 years and is pristine it will last another 6 months. Just plug up all the holes.

These tanks were coated from the factory since new. So if the coating is intact, you don't need to do anything.? If you want to be extra sure, coat it with oil and drain the excess.? Even that won't last forever, as it will eventually make it's way to the bottom of the tank, so you will have to do it every so often.??

If the coating is still there, I'd leave it alone.?

Good point, Richard and Rob. I¡¯ll just leave it alone.

Thanks
