I accidentally ran into R90S of US serial number one, in a warehouse in NY, I was trying to find a warehouse on the Hudson River in NY that restored PT boats from WWII. Walked in and there it was. A local friend now owns it. BUT US production started AFTER ROW (rest of world) production had started, so it is NOT the first R90S produced, it is the first one for US consumption. The US bikes had a different serial number sequence than ROW bikes. You can find lists of all these serial numbers, some in Ian Falloon's book "BMW R90S".

Photos Josh, hmmmm, I will have to remember to take some when I go to my friend's house. I did take a few when I found R90S #1 in that warehouse years ago, but I *** Ok, I just found the warehouse visit pics in my computer, attached are a few. I hope they make it to the R90sWorldnet.
I have about 50 pics from that warehouse visit which was full of partially restored PT boats, V16? Packard engines, old Corvettes, A Ferrari or two, a couple of motorcycles, AND serial number 1, it was pretty amazing.

I see my R90S #1 pics came through, and Doug Raymond confirmed that as well.
For the record, I was able to be successful at sending those pics because of Doug Rayond's help and work getting the R90sWorldnet transferred over to .io

Yes Kelly, I've always loved PT boats, read the story of John Kennedy being on one and surviving, etc.
I have attached a picture showing what was going on at that warehouse where I found R90S serial number 1 of US production. It mentions Fleet Obsolete, but prior to that there was a Team Obsolete which raced old motorcycles. It was headed up by a Brooklyn lawyer whose name escapes me now. Googling?all this might be interesting and insightful.

My friend Dave Roper raced for Team Obsolete.? He is still active racing and is the only American to ever win the Isle of Man TT. (okay, he corrected me, the last time we met and said there was an American who did pretty well riding an electric bike, but let¡¯s not go there) ?
