Couple thoughts about the fall issue club newsletter which I thoroughly
enjoyed. Thanks to everyone who contributed, especially Rick and Ken. Way to go, Ken, on taking first overall at the RA rally. Also, thanks for writing up your European tour. I suspect there are many like me who hope to do that some day. Rick, I was really interested in your track day report. I'm taking a CLASS course next summer at their new east coast location, Virginia International Raceway, which is about an hour and a half from me. I'd been planning to do it on my Triumph Sprint, but you've inspired me to ride my "S" instead. I suppose if you can be smooth with brakes, throttle and shifting on our "S" bikes, you can be smooth on anything !! Where'd you get your lightened flywheel? Kirk, keep that info about the Euro scene coming. Many of us in the States are really interested in our bro's abroad, and we hear far too little from them. I think we've got a neat club and list going here. We'll have to plot some nifty get-togethers for next year. Troy |

I think we all owe it to Ken for putting out a great newsletter. As

newsletter editor for the local BMW club here in Detroit, (BMW Touring Club of Detroit), I can tell you that a lot of work goes into it. Troy, I got the flywheel from Bob's BMW in Maryland. I still have the stock unit, and didn't want to cut into that one. So far, the shifting is much better than stock. There's a fine line in restoring and riding and older bike. Do I keep it totally stock or add some improvements that will allow me to ride it and enjoy it more. For me, the light flywheel was an acceptable option. Plus, its on the inside where nobody else knows its there! I think you're really going to enjoy Reg's class. Him and his instructors put a lot into it, and by the end of the day, you're mentally exhausted, but you'll ride away with an enormous amount of confidence in your abilities.
