Re: Reducing the R90S's weight
I have noticed the same over the past 5 years _ (now 73) All my bikes seem heavier. my solution was the R9T and then modified it to be my updated R90s. My S is for special rides The R9T is much easier

Identify cable length requirements before you commit to changing bars¡ My ¡¯76 came to me with what I think are K75S bars. IIRC new oem throttle cables were mountable but the one on the right side

Re: Reducing the R90S's weight
While having R90/6 and an R90/SI I still ride both. The wider bars on the /6 make it more comfortable on extended trips. The narrower bars on the /S make it harder to keep stable when pushing it

Re: Reducing the R90S's weight
Sometimes a little wider +/- taller bars make a bike easier to manage. Both on & off the bike.

Thanks Everyone. I'm doing all the muscle building I can because I really don't want to give up the bike but it is slow going. I'll keep at it. Meanwhile, anyone has any suggestions for a lighter

I¡¯ll get yelled at for suggesting this, but you could get rid of the center stand and just use the side stand. Might save a pound or two. For information about our Airbnb

Sri, Sorry to say, but you don't have many options.? The bike has already been stripped of excess weight in the manufacturing process...lightweight alloys in the whole drive train, aluminum wheels

Ha! I'm 120 pounds and can't afford to lose any weight. I'm 65 years old and I don't think I'll be gaining any muscle mass anytime soon. I'd like to reduce the weight of the bike, just in case that

Reducing the R90S's weight
As I get older and a little less strong, I'm at the point of deciding whether I should sell my '76 R90S or shed some weight off it so I can ride it for a few more years before taking it back to stock
