I think I'm not doing something correctly, or, I need a new feature.

My use case....

I find an event in OW I want to observe. If the path is over my "home", I will just observer from there, otherwise I will use the map function to see if the path goes over any of the "mobile sites" I have saved (I have over 20 local area sites). If I find a mobile site I want to use, I then go back to the OW event summary, right click on the event, select "add to My Events" and pick the mobile site from my list of pre-saved sites. Ok, probably nothing odd about that.

If I select an event (single click it), the path map at the bottom of the screen is updated with my new location. If I hover over it, it always indicates my home location. I would like it to display the name of the mobile site. This way, if I revisit my list, I don't have to open the map and find my location (which by the way, will still indicate my home location if I hover over it).

If it is a matter of privacy, then the software doesn't have to show MY location the same as it does for others. All my personal site information is available to OW, so when I am looking at MY data, I would love to see as much info of my own as possible. If i hover over someone else's site, sure, only tell me what they want me to know.?

Which brings me to the second question.? I thought I read somewhere that if i set my sites as "preferred mobile sites", those sites would show up on a map (?). well, if I double click an event, a map is loaded, but there isn't any indication of the locations of my mobile sites. So, on what map can they be seen, if what I read is true. Having my mobile sites available on the map would make is a lot easier to identify if any of them are candidates for a specific event.

I guess one possible response is, wait for the cloud version. LOL

Ok, that's all I have for today, I'll go away now.

Hi Vince,

When you add your event to MyEvents you can choose the name of the 'site' on the intermediate screen. There are currently no smarts to have the default value of the site infered by the mobile site you selected so this needs to be changed manually. If I didn't understand the problem, please provide screenshots.

Omn the second question. If you choose 'Show online map with stations' there will be a button at the top labels 'Preferred Sites'. This is a 'Toggle' button to show/hide those sites. It this what you were looking for?

As OW Desktop's GoogleMap will be decomissioned when Google stops support for .NET Windows Forms (Aug 2022), the preferred mobile locations functionality will be lost. I will need to rebuild the GoogleMap on OWC but the prefered mobile locations will not be on the top of the list of things to add support for, it may take a while before this functionality is restored.

Let me know if I missed anything.

Hristo.

Thanks Hristo!??

Both of your suggestions work just fine. I'm not sure how I missed the "preferred sites" option, I guess I'm busy closing the nag screen and hitting Satellite view that I have ignored everything else. The pins are perfect!

Intermediate screen. I never though to "try" and change the "site name", so thanks for pointing that out. It works as expected now.
