tracking drift 15" classic AN/SC

I've had 4 scopes with AN/SC (3 Obsessions) and never had this happen before. GoTos are spot on, but then the image drifts up in the EP fairly rapidly, almost as if it is not tracking on that axis. But the AN reads how much off it is and GoTo puts the image right back in the FoV. Not a big problem when just sight seeing, but I like to sketch and having to keep adjusting the aim to center the image while drawing is a pain. Plus it will be a problem once the pandemic panic is over and I can start outreach star parties again. Any suggestions on what is wrong - and how to correct it will be much appreciated.

Well, I was going to tell you to contact Gary at StellarCAT, but I just looked and his web site is down. Don't know what's going on. I will say that he has ALWAYS been very responsive and helpful - I've never an an issue with either the SC or AN that he was unable to help me with.

Hi Donald,

I have seen this before on mine (UC18, SC, AN) and I let the object drift to one side of my FOV and double click the handset button (the opposite direction of the drift) to re-center and then it tracks perfectly.

Don't really understand but this seems to always work for me if i ever notice drifting.

Hi Donald,
as Richard says, the best is to get in touch with Gary from stellarcat. He will help you for sure. And he knows AN almost as well as Gary from Argonavis (wildcard innovations).

Thanks everybody. I did contact Gary and problem solved. Turns out the latest version of SC has a feature that prevents trying to track below the horizon. He suggested I check the data in the system. I realized I had never properly entered the location, time, etc. of my observing site. I entered the proper set-up data and now it tracks just fine.

Check out the Obsession Argo Navis/ ServoCAT guide in the files section of this group.? If you have not set up the location etc of your observing site, you may not know all of the other neat things your scope can do (track satellites like the ISS as it passes overhead, make custom pointing models, etc). There are also guides to set up planetarium control of your scope by smartphone, tablet or PC.
