The pictures look great, especially with the sub titling anecdotes!
Tom and I cleaned up his RV yesterday afternoon, sat down and looked
at what we did right and what could be inproved on for next year!
Tom wrote this down and I suggested we get together Thursday evening
at Hemmingways in the Marietta Square. Then I got thinking that
some of us may be traveling over the long weekend and may want
Thursday evening for other things. I heard Wednesday evening
suggested. What does everyone think, Wednesday or Thursday? We can
also plan to make our Thank you package to the Fullers at this time.

Re: Field Day 2003

Tim Lemmon

Personally, I'm not sure I saw too much that went bad.
Yeah the network wasn't 100%, and the generators went
out once or twice while I was there, but was that due
to poor planning? I don't think so. I think the
massive prior planning showed itself in many ways
while I was there on Saturday!

I would be glad to join the group again next year. I
suspect my schedule will be more free and I'll help
out with some planning too. Maybe I'll even operate
as well as Jim and Mike? (the real CW pros). The
efforts of some wives and all the hardware we had was
real fun.

Dave, hats off to you for working so much to make it a
success this year. I had a fun 12 hours with you guys
on Saturday!

I believe the N4N team is well over 1,000 QSOs -- made up of phone, CW,
Satellite, GOTA station, an impromtu "midnight" 80M phone station, and over
50 6M QSOs (6 states) during a "dead band".

All,

After 3 days of setup, this ditty just popped to my head.

FIELD DAY BLUES....
Copyright 2003 M. R. Condon

In 12 bars, blues vamp...
Ta dum, Ta dum, Ta dum... etc.

I got the FIELD DAY blues.
I got the FIELD DAY blues.
They say I need a bath, I know I need a snooze,
I got the FIELD DAY blues.

My family thinks I'm NUTS.
My family thinks I'm NUTS.
We put some tents, then we sit on our BUTTS,
My family thinks I'm NUTS.

I think my RADIO died.
I think it really FRIED.
I hit the power, it smoked, I cried,
I think my RADIO died.

We got ticks and fleas.
I'M getting a strange disease.
I got the diarrhea and I'm afraid to SNEEZE,
We got ticks and fleas.

I got the Field Day blues
I got the Field Day blues
They say I need a bath, I know I need a snooze,
I got the FIELD DAY BLUES

Special Final Planning Net Thursday 9pm

In discussions this morning, we thought it a good idea to have a
final planning session to cover last minute pop-up items and issues.
This will be a good chance to look for missing items and dicuss the
findings of those already on-site.

Lets meet on 147.105 repeater at 9pm for a short net.
Net Control will KE4UW. KD4SHH can be backup Net Control if needed.

See yall there....KD4SHH - Dave

I mentioned a while back that I'd bring a laptop with
both 100BASET and 802.11b connectivity. It doesn't
have the logging application loaded on it, but that
shouldn't take too long to fix!

I¡¯ve got my stuff loaded and in the process thought of a couple things.

?

We could use a few more box fans.? I¡¯m bringing 3, but with the one large tent, a ¡°hangout tent¡±, Tom¡¯s awning, a satellite setup somewhere, and maybe an ¡°air conditioning booster fan¡± in Phil¡¯s trailer, we could probably use 3 or 4 more. ?Good for keeping folks cool and keeping mosquitoes at bay.
