Gents,
Can any of you help me to put the steppir back up next weekend?? I need four folks minimum, preferably five. Should take an hour or so.? Maybe we could get lunch before or after.?
?
I’d like to shoot for Saturday, but Sunday would also work for me.? Long range forecast looks good (sunny, but a bit chilly) both days.

Thanks,

Oh, how cool it would have been to have heard that in realtime! Thanks for sharing the recordings. The recorded sweeps sounded much further apart than 0.5sec; was the astroid travelling away?

Eddie and gang, that will be a great QSL card!

?

Gents,

Anybody available the week between xmas and new year to help me take down my steppir?? It has a short somewhere in the cable/reflector control unit that I need to get it down to sort out.?

Same drill as taking the antennas down after Field Day—pull one section at a time from the rocket launcher mast until it drops from 35 ft to 10 ft, then pop off the top piece with antenna and rotor attached.? Should take an hour or less.? But I need a critical mass of 5 folks.

I’ll pick a day when it’s within the window of the 10 day forecast and hopefully choose a day we can count on good WX.?

Yea, I hear you Eddie.? But if it’s an easy fix I’d like keep access to a yagi on 6/12/17m.? Hopefully I can find/fix the short in the reflector motor circuit (cable or control box on the boom).?

?

With Eddie and Gary, plus my two boys, we have the minimum complement to get the steppir down, so lets go with 1pm Sunday.? Could use one or two more so we have a dedicated spotter/yeller and a spare.?

?

See y’all Sunday.?

Why don't we just replace your ailing Steppir with the Explorer 14 on Sunday and save from? future hassle? ?

Thanks for all the offers.? Looks like some might be available this weekend, so if I can get 2 or 3 folks this Sunday (say 1pm, after it warms up a bit) we can take the steppir down.? If I can figure out what’s wrong with it and get it fixed, maybe I can get it back up the week after xmas.
