Wow, I haven't talked to Jerry about this in, oh, at least 3 hours. :-)
Still a definite maybe, but we keep trying!

They have not sold out the inside there for a couple of years, so I

Wish I could join you.

Has anybody tried to convince Jerry WB2MMO to come out and pound the
brass for a couple of hours? I think he would have fun...

The plan is to use KT4XN's IC-775 on 40m CW, and Tim's

two
highest priority. If we could get some else to take on one

On phone, I've got 40m, Eric has 20m (still a maybe), and I

15/80m. KT4XN has GOTA, KD4SHH has vhf/uhf, AA4RC has

phone stations as well. If we get enough setup help, we
might
add
another phone station and have separate ones on 10/80 and
on
15/160. We could use separate station captains for those
two.

Hey gang,

In putting together some notes for a Field Day planning
net,
I'm gathering a list of things we need. Rather than try
to
work it all out during the net, I'm hoping to identify
some
solutions beforehand. I'm assuming that many of you folks
will take on the same things you did last year (Robin on
satellite, Dave R. on VHF/UHF, Roger on digital, etc)--my
thanks for you guys' support again. However, there are a
few
holes where folks who took thinks on last year won't be
available this year. Can anybody help with any of the
following:

* AC generators (we have Tom's RV and KD4SHH 5KW;
need
two more 3-5 KW generators)
* Heavy gauge extension cords (10ga or larger: I have
two
25-footers, need several more)
* 5ft or 6ft banquet tables (we have 5 from KE4UW,
need
7
or 8 more at least)
* Laptop computers for logging (have 6, from WA2MBP,
KE4UW, KN6RO, KT4XN, KD4SHH, AA4RC; need at least 4
more, maybe 6 more)

In addition to the hardware, we need folks to take on a
few
activities. Note that we don't need anyone to go buy any
equipment, but rather to find out who in the group has
what
you need, confirm it will be coming to field day, and put
it
all together once we get there. The only expense is a bit
of
time. So, can anyone take on:

* AC power guru to oversee design and installation of
AC
power to tents (identify generators, extension
cords,
power strips, gas cans, etc)
* Station captains for two CW stations and one phone
station (we have equipment, but need folks to pick
up,
assemble and test equipment, bring to FD, set up)
* Coordinator for bonus points for 5 QSOs on alternate
power
* Coordinator for bonus points for initiating message
to
Section Manager
* Coordinator for bonus points for handling 10
messages
(packet?)
* Coordinator for bonus points for visits by elected
official and/or served agency official

I think you'll see that, all things considered, the list
is
pretty short. We're in good shape in most areas.

ready for the hamfest as long as we can get a booth. It is done and

for N4N to display what we are up to and maybe get a few more

indoors (near SEDXC?) or outdoors if the WX is nice.

I'm willing to spend some time there, but I'm not much of a
graphics

someone
else
to step up for that.

I just saw a flyer today reminding me the hamfest is a week
from
Saturday

For the warmongering imperialist pigs in the group, there's
a
gun
show at
Cobb Civic Center June 4. I plan to stop by after lunch. Any
others
interested?

For the warmongering imperialist pigs in the group, there's a
gun
show at
Cobb Civic Center June 4. I plan to stop by after lunch. Any
others
interested?

Field Day Station Operator Schedule

Jim Nail

I have posted a XLS spreadsheet file to the group. The purpose is
to have a minimum of two people (I have columns for three) for each
station as 'the operators' for that station (left hand column).
I've attempted to put people where they are comfortable. The
thought here is not to tie people down to specific times, but
between the two or three of you, you can work out a plan of how YOU
will keep the radio on the air. The RED areas are probably when the
radio cannot be on the air due to propagation, but as we know that
can change. If everyone can look at the spreadsheet and make
comments as to which station they are interested in operating, I can
accumulate the results into my master sheet. It's OK to be primary
on one station and secondary/tertiary on others, but remember it's
up to you to work out your operating plan with the others assigned
to that station. The station captain is responsible for pre-field
day station configuration, setup and testing.

Hopefully this will aid us in our goals for FD 2005!

Thanks,

73 de WA2MBP

We're trying to get things spread around so no one person has
more
than two stations to worry about, preferably only one.
The plan is to use KT4XN's IC-775 on 40m CW, and Tim's TS-850 on
20m CW. Jim, if you take two CW stations, those are the two
highest priority. If we could get some else to take on one of
the
CW stations, we can make much better use of the folks available
when we set them up Friday night. Also, if we get enough
operators to have a third station, we'll still need yet one more
person to take the lead for another CW station (likely Jim's
TS-570).
On phone, I've got 40m, Eric has 20m (still a maybe), and I have
15/80m. KT4XN has GOTA, KD4SHH has vhf/uhf, AA4RC has
satellite,
and KN6RO has digital. We could use someone to pick up one of
the
phone stations as well. If we get enough setup help, we might
add
another phone station and have separate ones on 10/80 and on
15/160. We could use separate station captains for those two.

Hey gang,
In putting together some notes for a Field Day planning net,
I'm gathering a list of things we need. Rather than try to
work it all out during the net, I'm hoping to identify some
solutions beforehand. I'm assuming that many of you folks
will take on the same things you did last year (Robin on
satellite, Dave R. on VHF/UHF, Roger on digital, etc)--my
thanks for you guys' support again. However, there are a
few
holes where folks who took thinks on last year won't be
available this year. Can anybody help with any of the
following:

* AC generators (we have Tom's RV and KD4SHH 5KW; need
two more 3-5 KW generators)
* Heavy gauge extension cords (10ga or larger: I have
two
25-footers, need several more)
* 5ft or 6ft banquet tables (we have 5 from KE4UW, need
7
or 8 more at least)
* Laptop computers for logging (have 6, from WA2MBP,
KE4UW, KN6RO, KT4XN, KD4SHH, AA4RC; need at least 4
more, maybe 6 more)

In addition to the hardware, we need folks to take on a few
activities. Note that we don't need anyone to go buy any
equipment, but rather to find out who in the group has what
you need, confirm it will be coming to field day, and put it
all together once we get there. The only expense is a bit
of
time. So, can anyone take on:

* AC power guru to oversee design and installation of AC
power to tents (identify generators, extension cords,
power strips, gas cans, etc)
* Station captains for two CW stations and one phone
station (we have equipment, but need folks to pick up,
assemble and test equipment, bring to FD, set up)
* Coordinator for bonus points for 5 QSOs on alternate
power
* Coordinator for bonus points for initiating message to
Section Manager
* Coordinator for bonus points for handling 10 messages
(packet?)
* Coordinator for bonus points for visits by elected
official and/or served agency official

I think you'll see that, all things considered, the list is
pretty short. We're in good shape in most areas.

Tuesday Planning Net for FD

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

How about Tuesday 9pm for the Field Day planning net?? Nobody responding to the poll on the yahoo group indicated a preference for Monday over Tuesday, so I propose we go with Tuesday, 9pm as we did last year.

?

Poll results show 2m is the best bet, so let¡¯s plan on 147.105, + offset, PL 107.2 for the net.

?

Hope to see you there!?

N1MM Files

Hello. If anyone would like to install the N1MM Logging programs
they're on the files section of this Yahoo Group. This SW is Free,
but it does take about an hour to setup properly (not including
MMTTY for RTTY support). Read the Install Document First. You will
have to go to to download the N1MM.ZIP
file since it will not fit (over the 5MB limit) on the Yahoo Groups
site. Every other file necessary is posted in our group. These
files are:

N1MM Install Document (Read This First)
NewexeV5.0.98.zip (Latest Progam Update)
N1MMLoggerHelp.chm (N1MM Windows Help File)
port95nt.exe (Configures Parallel ports for keying)
wl_cty.dat (Latest Country File)
MASUSVE.DTA (Master US/VE callsign database for duping)
MMTTY165D.zip (RTTY Files)
RTTY Support.doc (RTTY Setup and Operation Document)

There is a separate yahoo group just for N1MM. Go to www.n1mm.com
