Not sure how good the long range weather guessers predictions are, but the forecast doesn’t look too bad.? Maybe this year I’ll need the sunscreen more than the umbrella . . . but you never know.

Eric W4MC and I will be in the flea market in spots 7214, 7215, 7216, and 7217.? It’s along the outer row on the north side of the race track infield, near the tractor pull pit.? Stop by and sit a spell and partake of a cold beverage if you have the chance.? Also, feel free to drop off any boat anchors you don’t feel like carrying around the boneyard.?

If anyone needs a ticket, I have one of the flea market tickets available.? Same as the general admission, but it allows you in the boneyard before the official start time.? It can even come with a VIP parking pass that will let you park on the horse race track.? Let me know if you are interested.?

Looking forward to a good hamfest!? Hope to see you there!

Re: it happened

There's no secret to the confirmation rate except that I am biased to work stations that have recent uploads to LoTW. DX Suite Spot Collector highlights the spots differently, that's where I focus first.

This last week brought me (possibly) 3 or more new dxccs. I've worked the T30UN expedition on 5 or 6 bands now, and I worked the 4W1A group on 20 RTTY this morning. I worked them Friday, too, but that contact was not in their log, but today I am in the log. Plus the VU7W this morning on 10.

Gotta go turn the crank some more.? PLUS... 6M e-skip season is coming soon...

Hi Dave,

Unfortunately I have commitments for Wednesday afternoon and evening. Thursday and Friday evenings open, as is Saturday.?

Disappointing that you have to rethink the Steppir. You have given it a heck of an effort.?

Hate to ask again, and sorry about the short notice, but any chance a few folks could help me take down the steppir Wednesday evening around 6pm?

Yes, it has crapped the bed again.? It has been unreliable enough that I am moving in another direction.? Good news is that DX Engineering promptly delivered a new Optibeam, and I am almost finished assembling it.? All done but mounting the element tips with pre-drilled holes so no measuring for element lengths.? With three sunny, no-rain days in the forecast, I will have it done in plenty of time.

The plan Wednesday is just to take the steppir down.? Between Wednesday and Saturday I’ll get the rocket launcher top piece/rotor/mast/yagi assembly ready to go, and as luck would have it, I should have critical mass Saturday to raise it, as we are having a family gathering to celebrate daughter Lauren’s impending April 1 wedding.? So just a take-down evolution Wednesday.? Should take less than an hour.

I’ll have a couple of my boys, but I need a few more to get this done.?

So please let me know if you can lend a hand Wednesday, around 6pm.?

I'm out with a group that evening so unable to help THAT evening.?

But Saturday is a different story ...
