1. HRI should come with a zipcode.CSV file. This file appears to be missing or a damaged file. This error is not very important. 2. Every message coming in from the radio must begin with "$PICOA". HRI is complaining that crazy characters are being read from the radio. This might be a problem with the home made cable interface that M710 owners make to connect the radio to the computer. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYou have an error opening the virtual COM port for the RadioEmulator feature.? I suggest turning off RadioEmulator.? Under Settings, RadioEmulator, UNcheck "Enable Radio Emulator".? You do not need this feature for basic control of your radio. Make sure you have DotNet Framework 4.6.1 installed.? You can download it from Microsoft If you keep getting "Error unexpected NMEA code" errors, then I think there is a problem with the radio or the cable connecting the radio to the computer. I have an idea. I have never owned or even touched an Icom Marine Radio.? The support for these radios were possible only with patient cooperation of others who own this radio who tried many many test versions to get HRI working right.? I think that r7khs might be the first one to use a M802 with HRI software.? I think everyone else used a M710 or M700pro.? According to the M802 manual the radio has a nice 9 pin RS232 "Remote" connector (where owners of M710 needed to make a homemade cable).? The M802 manual describes the purpose of each pin, and includes the RTS and CTS pins.? These are used for handshaking flow control.? I am not using any flow control on any of the RS232 COM Ports in HRI.? The M710 manual shows the strange REMOTE port without any RTS or CTS pins. ? Maybe the M802 requires flow control? In the next few days I will make a test version where ICOM Marine Radio will use RTS/CTS flow control.? This might make the M802 work properly, and it might break the M710.? If it breaks the M710, then it will need to have these two radio models listed as different models in the settings/radio window. |

good day howerd? flow control is definitely not needed on the M710. it runs on the xon/xoff protocol. Be careful using the full rts/cts control cable on the M710. It messes with pins where audio is connected on this rig. the M710 does have isolation transformers sitting on these lines when looking at the m710 side, thus it probably will not damage the machine, but the sending side is something different. it will see a low impedance transformer ! in any case, if the 802 uses rts/cts the rigg is significant different from the M710 in that respect. regards jaap |
