Re: Parallel port to USB Advice on Options to adapt
Where can he get the G8KBB adapter?

Re: Parallel port to USB Advice on Options to adapt
Be wary of the adapters on ebay and amazon - they are only for printers and do not necessarily provide full two way communication.? The G8KBB adapter and software work.? I recently tested my unit.

I am wading through it - just trying to sort out what I need and what is extra. It is a great piece of gear and I would like to get it going again. De Philip VK3JW/KF8JW On Thu, May 25, 2023 at 11:51?PM Vladimir Simic <yt7aa@...> wrote:

All you need is still available there. Just don't give up, great piece of hardware! Vladimir, yt7aa -----Original Message-----

Re: Parallel port to USB Advice on Options to adapt
I'm still here, although it has been years since I fired up my N2PK. When I last did, I used a Win7 Lenovo T400 with a docking station that provides a parallel port, etc. DG8SAQ software is wonderful with the N2PK
My N2PK is an original build; I did the first detector mod and actually bought a v2 board but never populated it. Still have it, some loose parts and a spare crystal oscillator laying around here someplace. I've moved on to the DG8SAQ/SDR-Kits model with full 2-port S-parameters for bench work and for single-port field use, a DG5MK FA-VA5. I still believe that Paul led the way for these. Wes N7WS |

Re: myVNA software
G'day Russell.
This Group is quiet these days; I check it fairly often and others probably do the same. Ivan Makarov was and still is a great supporter of the N2PK VNA; there is a lot of information on his website; Dave G8KBB can be difficult to contact as his "day job" is pretty high-level and keeps him very busy but he's a nice bloke and I'm sure will help you. Here is his website page on the VNA; His e-mail is "buried", obviously for privacy reasons, in the second-last paragraph near the bottom of the page. If you don't already have it, the user manual is also there. The other material may be of use also, although you are not actually building one it's good background. It's a very good instrument; I'm sure you will like it. Regards, Kerry VK2TIL. |

When opening the "Help/Product key entry/ product key & registration management" window in the MyVNA software, you can see the email address of the autor. Depending on his workload, he will generaly answer within a week after receiving your registration request. You also can download DG8SAQ VNWA.exe which is a free and 100% N2PK compatible software, without needing any registration number 73' Marc f6itu -----Message d'origine-----

Hi Brian,Thanks, that is a very interesting use for the N2PK VNA. Have downloaded your files to use if we ever need to.Thanks,Roderick Wall vk3yc.Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Re: Merry Christmas
G'day Roderick; nice to hear from you.
This Group has been very quiet; I assume that everyone's hardware is working well and that Dave's myVNA is operating flawlessly. Let's hope that the world returns to some degree of normality in 2022; at least we are ahead of the Poms in Test cricket so that's encouraging. :) Regards, Kerry VK2TIL. |
