March Meeting Recap followup

Hi Rizwan,

Thanks for the email. Attached are 600 dpi .png files ... one is a general logo ... the other is the 30 year version.

Among Eric's other talents, he is our master of hyperbole ... (Hyperbole is a figure of speech that involves exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally, often used for emphasis or dramatic effect.). My "World Headquarters" is a 4000 sqft - farm building with no employees! Other than the occasional sparrow who manages to take advantage of an open door, I rarely have any visitors.

I can work on putting together a gallery of pictures detailing the project. The effort it takes to do that, will be worth it to me as a help to recall things I did in the past whose details I won't remember in the future. Sometimes I wander around looking at things I know I did in the past but find it harder and harder to believe I did them or how. Even in the programming realm, I still use software I created with VFP 20 years ago and have to dive into the code to see how I did this or that. Looking at old code is essentially a 'diary' of our journey to what we do today.

Here's the original pic Eric sent out ... along with another one I played with:

Hi Eric and Everyone,

March 2025 marks an incredible milestone for our group ¡ª 31 years strong! What an achievement to be proud of. I may be living outside the U.S. now, but my connection to this group remains as strong as ever. Even though the time difference means our meetings happen at around 2 a.m. for me, and with work the next morning, I still love hearing about all the amazing activities and camaraderie that keep this community so special.

It was exciting to hear about this month's meeting at Jim Tooley's World HQ of Tickets & More. Jim, you are truly a master at what you do! The idea of using your laser to create those beautiful 30-Year anniversary commemorative items is fantastic. I really enjoyed learning about the process ¡ª from the test runs to perfecting the power and speed to get the best image. I can only imagine how impressive the final result must be, and please share the original image of this possibly in HD format.

As we continue into our 31st year, I have a small request. In April, it would be wonderful to create a video vlog to celebrate this milestone. I¡¯d love to see the original picture of the 30-Year anniversary swag, and it would be even better if our own "Star Wars guy" (the one with the laser beam!) could showcase the process behind it. It would mean a lot to those of us who can't be there in person to witness the magic.

Even though I can't attend the meetings physically, the time in my region is always 02:00 am in morning and morning is the working day, I still feel deeply connected to the journey we started back in 1995. It's amazing to reflect on how far we've come and how many memories we've created along the way. Here's to many more years of friendship, innovation, and great memories.

Looking forward to seeing what this next year brings!

Best regards,

Rizwan Hassan?

March 2025 marks the beginning of our 31st year as a group. Quite an accomplishment! Since March 1995, and without missing too many months, we have met on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Somewhere I still have the attendance sheets for those first meetings at the Federal Courthouse in downtown Madison, where coincidentally I still work today after a few forays elsewhere.

Our meeting this month was actually at Jim Tooley's World HQ of Tickets & More. Jim is the leading producer of legal raffle tickets. He's so efficient you cannot beat his prices.

But the main reason we met there is because Jim owns a beautiful laser which he's using to generate some beautiful commemorative 30 Year anniversary swag. He demonstrated how he split the design to do 5 test runs on his laser to find the power and speed that produced the best image on the medium. Here is the result, which can be turned into everything from coasters to commemorative coins to wall plaques (probably).

See you in April for our 31st years' commencement!

Eric
