Golly, I found myself in the same boat on win11 boxes. It seems hard to find the things that people that actually manage computers need. I could have got my same box with win11, but that was a NO GO for me. I have favored Mint (actually an Ubuntu fork) over the latest Ubuntu since I really don't like SNAP and SNAP is not the default on Mint, also like Mint's default desktop better. Looking at these mini's - 80-100 bucks, add another hundred or so for more RAM and a bigger SSD and you have a really inexpensive office solution for a lot of businesses. Actually, 8GB RAM and a small SSD is plenty good for office use.

If you aren't chained to MS Office, the linux distros are ready to rock out of the box. FreeCAD and CURA both have native linux builds and Sibelius actually runs just fine under wine (which, I think, has come a long ways...). I also have a win10 box running under VirtualBox - a little slow, but works fine. MS Code has a linux build and nodejs works best here anyway. Haven't tried foxpro, but it probably is fine in the VBox win10, I think it also loads under wine.

So I just started an egghead.io course on integrating AI into your apps - OpenAI is astonishingly easy to pop in your code - you just need to sign up, get a key or two and plop some OpenAI API calls into your code OR you can use standard http fetch stuff - you just have a POST to an endpoint, pass your key, your question, and what flavor of response you want... await fetch().then(); and that's basically it. If people are interested, I'll build a small demo for the November meeting - just let me know.
