Re: Anyone downloaded VFP 9.0?
PJ Fernandez
开云体育It was
great!? I just ran an impromptu test, running the same application
developed in VFP 6.0, copied it to three other places and I opened the project
in VFP 7.0, VFP 8.0 and VFP 9.0.? I only changed the Main Form Caption to
include the Version that is running.? The rest of the code is intact.?
I did not create an executable, I ran the code from the project button
"Run".
?
These
are the average results:
??? 1.? VFP 6.0?? -???~ 21
seconds
??? 2.? VFP 7.0?? -?? ~? 9
seconds
??? 3.? VFP 8.0?? -?? ~??8
seconds
??? 4.? VFP 9.0?? -?? ~??7
seconds
?
I ran the program 10 times in different
sequences.
?
Interesting ...? this tells me, get off
of VFP 6.0! ?

Re: Anyone downloaded VFP 9.0?

开云体育Thanks Eric. I would run it from .NET in a windows
environment. I have not had enough time to investigate Mono. I don't even know
Mono's current status, but it sounds like a very interesting project, just as
long as it doesn't die out like the whole thing with Wine and
VFP.
I might have more indepth questions after reviewing the
links provided.
?
Are you doing a lot of Java development? How do you like
Java? You will have no problems picking up C# (if you already haven't) the
similarities between C# and Java are very obvious.
?
Thanks again,
Einar

Thanks for the link. I will check it out when I get home.
Is there a .NET plug-in?

开云体育I sure did.? It looks great!? They call this a beta but it seems rock-solid.?
