New product! The PMDX-411 squeezes a SmartBOB-USB inside the connector shell of a male DB-25 plug.

Now you can instantly convert most parallel port devices into a USB device controlled by Mach4.

The PMDX-411 is available now and costs $119 by itself or $309 in a bundle with Mach4Hobby.

Any problems with the USB dropping out due to electrical interference?

What about two port system?

You will have to stay tuned for the results on that one.....

We did use different USB inteface silicon (not FTDI) than is in the SmoothStepper-USB
and provided ESD protection and common-mode noise filtering, but it is too soon to
claim victory. So far we have no reports of problems, but there are less than 100 units
in the field.

As the product announcement said, the PMDX-411 is for use with Mach4.

We have several more projects related to Mach4 in process and will not
have time to consider support for Mach3 until late fall, if then. We will
have to see what happens.
