I have now added switches so I can HOME and SQUARE the X axis. I have a question about how this should work.
Here is what I get when I hit "REF ALL HOME"
The X axis moves in the - direction ?(AS EXPECTED) When the Home Switches are hit each motor ("X" and "A") back OFF the switches?(AS EXPECTED) Then the "A" axis motor moves back to the switch and triggers it a second time and again it backs OFF and stops. (NOT SURE THIS IS CORRECT OR NOT)
Is there something I am missing?
Thanks, Troy

Uncheck "Home Slave with Master" in General Config, and edit your homing script to remove the command that's homing the A axis.

If home slave with master is checked, then the A axis is not using it's home switch, and no autosquaring will occur. To edit the homing macro, go to Operator > Edit button script, and click the home button.

One more HOMING question. ? I can set how far off the switch the Axis are after Homing. However, A closer look and all I am really doing is setting the "Machine DRO" to read a value. In fact the axis backs OFF the same amount and the Machine DRO gets set to the value I have entered. ? Is this correct or am I missing something? ? The reason I ask is because I would like the axis to back OFF the switch .350 and I can't figure out how to get the axis to move off just a little more after hitting the switch when HOMING. It moves OFF enough to un-trigger the switches. But I would like it to back OFF just a bit more. ? ? Thanks, Troy ? ? ? ?

You are correct-the number you enter is to
tell the machine what value the axis should be set to after homing.

Hi Troy, If you set the back off DRO to -.35", and then command the X to go to zero, you would be +.35 away from the switches. It would be nice if you can get all that into the homing command. But I am not sure of the syntax required, and if it could all be issued in the homing routine. --------------------------------------------

Hi Troy, If you set the
back off DRO to -.35", and then command the X to go to
zero, you would be +.35 away from the switches. It would
be nice if you can get all that into the homing command.
But I am not sure of the syntax required, and if it
could all be issued in the homing routine.

Hi Gerry, ? Not sure where the Homing micro is. I added it to the script onto the REF ALL HOME button and the machine will rapid to X 0 and then slowly move to hit the home switches and back off. I then still have to hit the GO TO ZERO for the X axis to stop where I want it to. ? Did I put the suggested script in the wrong place? What might I be doing wrong if that should work? ? Thanks, Troy ? ?

One more HOMING question. ?I can set how far off the switch the Axis are after Homing. However, A closer look and all I am really doing is setting the "Machine DRO" to read a value. In fact the axis backs OFF the same amount and the Machine DRO gets set to the value I have entered. ?Is this correct or am I missing something? ?The reason I ask is because I would like the axis to back OFF the switch .350 and I can't figure out how to get the axis to move off just a little more after hitting the switch when HOMING.It moves OFF enough to un-trigger the switches. But I would like it to back OFF just a bit more. ? ?Thanks,Troy ? ? ? ?From: mach1mach2cnc@... [mailto:mach1mach2cnc@...] Sent: Wednesday, February 18, 2015 4:15 PM To: mach1mach2cnc@... Here is what I have there:
DoButton( 24 )
DoButton( 23 )
DoButton( 22 )
Code "G53 G0 X0 Y0 Z0"
While IsMoving()
Wend
Nothing changed. I still have to hit "GO TO ZERO"
Do you see anything wrong?

Add it to the END of the Ref All Home script.

Hi Gerry,
Not sure where the Homing micro is.
I added it to the script onto the REF ALL HOME button and the machine will rapid to X 0 and then slowly move to hit the home switches and back off. I then still have to hit the GO TO ZERO for the X axis to stop where I want it to.
Did I put the suggested script in the wrong place?
What might I be doing wrong if that should work?
Thanks,
Troy

Add this to the end of your homing macro:
Code "G53 G0 X0 Y0 Z0" While IsMoving() Wend

That helped.
I set the back-off to -.050 and after HOMING I hit "GO TO ZERO" and the machine stopes where I wanted.
Thanks.
I think I am good now. I just have to remember to hit "GO TO ZERO" so the axis is not parked on the limit switch plungers.

Hi Troy, If you set the back off DRO to -.35", and then command the X to go to zero, you would be +.35 away from the switches. It would be nice if you can get all that into the homing command. But I am not sure of the syntax required, and if it could all be issued in the homing routine. -------------------------------------------- On Wed, 2/18/15, testfly@atla ntic.net <mailto:testfly@...> [mach1mach2cnc] <mach1mach2cnc@...> wrote:

One more HOMING question. I can set how far off the switch the Axis are after Homing. However, A closer look and all I am really doing is setting the "Machine DRO" to read a value. In fact the axis backs OFF the same amount and the Machine DRO gets set to the value I have entered. Is this correct or am I missing something? The reason I ask is because I would like the axis to back OFF the switch .350 and I can't figure out how to get the axis to move off just a little more after hitting the switch when HOMING.It moves OFF enough to un-trigger the switches. But I would like it to back OFF just a bit more. Thanks,Troy From: mach1mach2cnc@... [mailto:mach1mach2cnc@...] Sent: Wednesday, February 18, 2015 4:15 PM To: mach1mach2cnc@... Hi Gerry,
Not sure where the Homing micro is.
Thanks,

Sent: Wednesday, February 18, 2015 2:30:04 PM Subject: [mach1mach2cn c] Homing with "X" axis wi th "A" motor as the SLAVE I have now added switches so I can HOME and SQUARE the X axis.I have a question about how this should work. Here is what I get when I hit "REF ALL HOME" The X axis moves in the - direction (AS EXPECTED)When the Home Switches are hit each motor ("X" and "A") back OFF the switches (AS EXPECTED)Then the "A" axis motor moves back to the switch and triggers it a second time and agai n it backs OFF and stops. (NOT SURE THIS IS CORRECT OR NOT) Is there something I am missing? Thanks,Troy
