Muslims are brothers. A Muslim should love for his brother what he

loves for himself. Allah's wealth does not run out, and Allah can
provide for us all. We pray for each other, and love each other, and
love for our brothers and sisters what we love for ourselves.

I would guess then that the Muslims in Iraq and Afganistan have no
love for themselves or other Muslims, since they are killing innocent
men, women and children who are also Muslim??

Allah means God. It is a personal name, which Allah calls Himself in the
Koran. That is where we get it. It can also be found in an Aramaic copy of
the Bible, and even Christian Arabs say Allah.
Who is Jesus

Guys:

The puns are good, but making jokes about any religion runs the risk of
offending some members of the group who may be followers.
It's best to make the jokes off list if you feel that they are important.

As to the derivation of Allah, it's the same root as one of the Hebrew words
for God, El
Since Arabic, Hebrew and Aramaic are all very related languages, many of the
words are similar

Some idiosyncrasies:

The English word Shibboleth (a word used as a password which cannot be
pronounced by an ethnic group - letter "L" by Japanese for example)
literally means "wheat" in Hebrew. Hebrew includes the "sh" sound, while
the Arabic dialect of the area does not, so the Philistines could not
pronounce the word. Many words are the same in both languages when this
sound is swapped:

(ex: Peace: Shalom, Salaam, Five: Khamesh, Khamsah - BTW, the guttural Kh
is a shibboleth sound in English)

Arabic does not include the P, so the sound is frequently substituted to a B
(Panias to Banias)

The B and V sounds are frequently inverted for words in both (Dog: kelev,
kalb), also in Spanish (Arabic influence) like the pronunciation of the word
for 20 which can sound like bentae or ventae

The amount of general knowledge in this group is amazing...

Anyway, I agree, lets try to not offend anyone, religion and
politics are NOT safe discussions anywhere, let alone on Email.
I will ban the automatic placements of religous dogma though, as I
know its really spam pretending to be discourse.... Religion is a
sacred topic to be discussed among ones immediate peers, not on the
net....
