Thank you for your e-mail and for your interest in our products.
I'm afraid we will not write a Mach4 plugin any soon and we have the following reasons:
1.) Mach4 is still in too active development which means the SDK interface is changing a lot as the developers fixing bugs and changing things, this means that we should always follow these changes closely and that the changes could break the plugin. We are not really interested to go into a jog like this now which could take forever and would give us an infinate job. We will write a plugin only if and when Mach4 will become stable enough and when the development will be not this active anymore.
2.) We already have our own software called the UCCNC. The software can already do most of the things mach3 and mach4 can do and we already working on advanced things which mach3 and also mach4 can't do, so probably at the time when mach4 will become stabile enough we will probably will be ahead of mach4 with our own software development, so there will be then no real point for us to write a plugin for Mach4 ... but ofcourse this is just an idea, time will decide. :)

There was a fair amount of work to develop a Mach4 plug-in at the start, but over the last 3 or 4 months the API has been fairly stable. What changes that have happened did not break anything, only added more features.
PMDX has been successfully updating our plug-in in a matter of days when a new build of Mach4 updates the API.
Stay tuned for a new product announcement later this week.? 8-)

Looking for help with my settings. I use mach3 plasma. I had to switch computers and now my torch will not go down automatically. It will raise and lower via the key board but when it jogs to position it fires in the air but will not go down to the material. The diagnostic page has the first light out in the port pin line of lights and no clue how to get it on. Thanks for any help I can get.

Hi Troy, If you set the back off DRO to -.35", and then command the X to go to zero, you would be +.35 away from the switches. It would be nice if you can get all that into the homing command. One more HOMING question. I can set how far off the switch the Axis are after Homing. However, A closer look and all I am really doing is setting the "Machine DRO" to read a value. In fact the axis backs OFF the same amount and the Machine DRO gets set to the value I have entered. Is this correct or am I missing something? The reason I ask is because I would like the axis to back OFF the switch .350 and I can't figure out how to get the axis to move off just a little more after hitting the switch when HOMING.It moves OFF enough to un-trigger the switches. The reason I ask is because I would like the axis to back OFF the switch .350 and I can't figure out how to get the axis to move off just a little more after hitting the switch when HOMING.It moves OFF enough to un-trigger the switches. But I would like it to back OFF just a bit more. Thanks,Troy From: mach1mach2cnc@... [mailto:mach1mach2cnc@...] Sent: Wednesday, February 18, 2015 4:15 PM To: mach1mach2cnc@... Re: Homing with "X" axis with "A" motor as the SLAVE
Here is what I have there:
DoButton( 24 )
DoButton( 23 )
DoButton( 22 )
Code "G53 G0 X0 Y0 Z0"
While IsMoving()
Wend
Nothing changed. I still have to hit "GO TO ZERO"
Do you see anything wrong?

Hi Gerry,
Not sure where the Homing micro is.
I added it to the script onto the REF ALL HOME button and the machine will rapid to X 0 and then slowly move to hit the home switches and back off. I then still have to hit the GO TO ZERO for the X axis to stop where I want it to.
Did I put the suggested script in the wrong place?
What might I be doing wrong if that should work?
Thanks,
Troy

Add this to the end of your homing macro:

Thanks.
I think I am good now. I just have to remember to hit "GO TO ZERO" so the axis is not parked on the limit switch plungers.

Hi Troy, If you set the back off DRO to -.35", and then command the X to go to zero, you would be +.35 away from the switches. It would be nice if you can get all that into the homing command. But I am not sure of the syntax required, and if it could all be issued in the homing routine. -------------------------------------------- On Wed, 2/18/15, testfly@atla ntic.net <mailto:testfly@...> [mach1mach2cnc] <mach1mach2cnc@...> wrote:

One more HOMING question. ?I can set how far off the switch the Axis are after Homing. However, A closer look and all I am really doing is setting the "Machine DRO" to read a value. In fact the axis backs OFF the same amount and the Machine DRO gets set to the value I have entered. ?Is this correct or am I missing something? ?The reason I ask is because I would like the axis to back OFF the switch .350 and I can't figure out how to get the axis to move off just a little more after hitting the switch when HOMING.It moves OFF enough to un-trigger the switches. I don't know if this has been solved but ...? I have never used
offsets or a touch plate but.. IF your touch plate is higher than your spoil
board that you call Z zero and your machine goes to the touch plate to Zero,
then uses an offset for the spoil board....? It would go up and hit the Z
limit switch if some how your 'manual code tool number change' in Mach was
somehow ignoring the off set...

Add this to the end of your homing macro:
Code "G53 G0 X0 Y0 Z0"
While IsMoving()

That
helped.
I
set the back-off to -.050 and after HOMING I hit "GO TO
ZERO" and the machine stopes where I wanted.
?
Thanks.
?
I
think I am good now. I just have to remember to hit "GO TO
ZERO" so the axis is not parked on the limit switch
plungers.

Hi Troy, If you set the
back off DRO to -.35", and then command the X to go to
zero, you would be +.35 away from the switches. It would
be nice if you can get all that into the homing command.
But I am not sure of the syntax required, and if it
could all be issued in the homing routine.

?
One more HOMING
question. ?I can set how far
off the switch the Axis are after Homing. However, A
closer
look and all I am really doing is setting the "Machine
DRO" to read a value. In fact the axis
backs OFF the same amount and the Machine DRO gets set
to
the value I have entered. ?Is this correct or
am I missing something? ?The reason I ask is
because I would like the axis to back OFF the switch
.350
and I can't figure out how to get the axis to move off
just a little more after hitting the switch when
HOMING.It moves OFF enough
to un-trigger the switches. But I would like it to back
OFF
just a bit more. ? ?Thanks,Troy ? ? ? ?From: mach1mach2cnc@...

Re: Homing with "X" axis with "A" motor as the SLAVE
That helped. I set the back-off to -.050 and after HOMING I hit "GO TO ZERO" and the machine stopes where I wanted. ? Thanks. ? I think I am good now. I just have to remember to hit "GO TO ZERO" so the axis is not parked on the limit switch plungers. ? Regards, Troy ? ? ?

Hi Troy, If you set the back off DRO to -.35", and then command the X to go to zero, you would be +.35 away from the switches. It would be nice if you can get all that into the homing command. But I am not sure of the syntax required, and if it could all be issued in the homing routine. --------------------------------------------

Re: Homing with "X" axis with "A" motor as the SLAVE
You are correct-the number you enter is to
tell the machine what value the axis should be set to after homing.

One more HOMING question.
?
I can set how far off the switch the Axis are after Homing.
However, A closer look and all I am really doing is setting the
"Machine DRO" to read a value.
In fact the axis backs OFF the same amount and the Machine DRO
gets set to the value I have entered.
?
Is this correct or am I missing something?
?
The reason I ask is because I would like the axis to back OFF
the switch .350 and I can't figure out how to get the axis to move off just a
little more after hitting the switch when HOMING.
It moves OFF enough to un-trigger the switches. But I would like
it to back OFF just a bit more.

OK I understand.

So, I removed the check and I removed the last line in the

It seems to be working right.

Anything else I should take a look at?

Thanks again for the help.

If home slave with master is checked, then the A axis is not using
it's home switch, and no autosquaring will occur. To edit the homing macro, go
to Operator > Edit button script, and click the home button.

I did not have a check in the ?"Home Slave with Master"
So I checked that box to see what happened and That seems to
have solved my problem.

Also I did not find the ?homing script to remove the command that's homing the A

Uncheck "Home Slave with Master" in General Config, and
edit your homing script to remove the command that's homing the A axis.

I have a question about how this should work.

Here is what I get when I hit "REF ALL HOME"

The X axis moves in the - direction ?(AS EXPECTED)
When the Home Switches are hit each motor ("X" and
"A") back OFF the switches?(AS EXPECTED)
Then the "A" axis motor moves back to the switch and
triggers it a second time and agai n it backs OFF and stops. (NOT SURE THIS IS
