Re: Radius Error...Update

Ross:

If that didn't help I think we have to look at what else can cause it. Can
you send me your Mach2Mill.xml file and the G-Code file so I can run a few
tests...
Thanks,

Re: 4th axis trouble (accel problem)

Interesting... i've not used a lot the 4 th axis until yet so i don't have
continous 4th axis moves experience yet. I just made indexed parts.

I will check when i'll use it.

verify positions problem in mach2

Hi all.

Verify position don't work if we have center axis ref switches and we
are on the switch off side of the ramp. You will need to manually
move the machine to the other side before the verify works.

Is this normal or did i miss something ?

Best regards,

Olivier.

and then uncheck Angualr disable and set the angle to 91 degrees in
the box labeld Blend Factor on the corrections page.
I see a Blend Factor on the Corrections page, but it is read only.
How do I change it? It reads 180.00 now. In the manual it says the
blend factor should be between 0 and 1. Did this change?

Then uncheck Plasma and run with just angualr descriminator. All
three are valid modes to try.
Tried this. No difference either way.

Can you give me a brief rundown of Plasma CV mode and how it works.
I'm a bit confused now after reading the manual. Nothing I do seems
to effect the small radius cuts either way.

Thanks...Ross

I did the Sub for the Y axis and it worked GREAT!!! I also can tell
you that the other axis (ABC) do NOT go throught the Accel that is
set in the table. I tried to run the mill with the A being the Y and
I lost steps like mad and it didn't even sound like the same mill...
I had all the same setting as when I used the Y axis (I also told it
it was a liner axis).

I hope this will help you Art.

Re: Multi Slot Index disc question.

Art

Peter:

No, that should work fine. As long as one slot is large enough in
comparison to the others it should work. Check the "#Slots" DRO, if it is
correct and stable, then all is well, if it is 0, then the larger slot is
not being seen. You will get no RPM reading or number of slots unless the
index slot is seen as unique.
Take note as well that there is no Timing Mark LED yet, only an index. I
will fix that soon...

Biran:

Could be, but one of the reasons I need to get rid of 2.0 and move to 4.0
is the vast number of fixes and repairs in version 4.0.

Version 2.0 is a very stable program, but it does have some bugs that are
long gone in 4.0.

I know this must sound dumb, but aperantly I locked the settings. I
am not able to change any of the settings. I assume that that is

seem to remember that at one pount I clicked lock. I also seem to
remember something asking me what I wanted the password to be. I

Multi Slot Index disc question.

Peter Homann

Art,

On my CNC lathe I have a 16 slot index disc. The 16 slots are cut into the
disk from the perimeter.

The ratio of the width of each slot is 50%. That is the waveform of the
signal coming from the opto interrupter is a square wave with a 50% duty
cycle.

From the software's point of view, will it be a problem if I enlarge one of
the slots by 50% to give that slot a duty cycle of 75%

Thanks,

Peter Homann

Re: Rutex 0-10v to servo drive question

Ed Gilbert

Hi Derek,

It sounds like the servo is overshooting position and then creeping back.
Try tightening your quill lock just a little at a time and see if that
helps. The quill has very little mechanical load versus the X any Y table.
If you can get the move to stabilize by adding load then you are half way
there. The next step is to see if the acceleration on the drives you have
can be set lower to improve overshoot.
