Hi Derek,

It sounds like the servo is overshooting position and then creeping back.
Try tightening your quill lock just a little at a time and see if that
helps. The quill has very little mechanical load versus the X any Y table.
If you can get the move to stabilize by adding load then you are half way
there. The next step is to see if the acceleration on the drives you have
can be set lower to improve overshoot.
