I will also confirm PCMCIA does work as well. I used a dual port
PCMCIA card from new egg and it works like a charm. As I understand
you have to be sure to get a 5 volt card and not a 3.3 volt card.

Hi:
Well, its nice to know a PCMCIA does work at any rate, I hadnt
gotten
confirmation of that..
Does it not go jittery if config is not used?
Thanks,

Subject: [mach1mach2cnc] computer reboot
My servo's keep getting jittery for no specific reason and the
only
fix is to reboot my laptop. It seems to randomly happen when I
change
some of my configurations. e.g. I change the acceleration and
it works
fine but, I need to change the rate again. I change the
acceleration
rate a second time and the servo will start running really
jittery. It
happens at irregular intervals when I'm making configuration
changes.
I'm not sure if it's a software problem or a hardware problem.
My
laptop does not have a printer port so I am using a Pcmcia card
adapter and I'm running XP w/sp2.

For informational purposes, I have a Quatech card. It was about $120
and works great. BTW, I don't think my problem is the cards fault.
Reboot is no big deal, it only takes about a minute. I think I am
going to buy another laptop anyway that is less expensive as this
one and I will use is exclusively for running Mach2. Thanks a
million guys for the right to use it on multiple computers. Steve
