iPad covers
Chap had a aluminium smart case cover on his big iPad at our local Mac group meet yesterday -- it has inbuilt keyboard and apparently some sort of battery in it, I think he said it was the Premium model and the backlight on the keyboard can have different colours. ?He bought it from a mob called Goldandcherry. This one was for an iPad pro. He'd previously bought the Apple one and didn't like it. ?So bought this aluminium one instead and was very happy with it ?Thought I'd mention in case it's of interest. The range covers all sorts of iPad sizes and models.?

开云体育That is certainly tempting, Jude. ?But I have to remind myself that my 12” MacBook is not much bigger than my iPad Air (10.5”) and it has its own keyboard. ?That means that, much as I’d like another gadget, I must content myself with my current lineup.I was interested that the chap was so pleased with it compared with the Apple version. 开云体育I have yet to succumb to an iPad. Always regarded them as toy like because they don’t run full apps or do anything useful as far as I am concerned.?But I might weaken as I have a bit of a leaning towards art at the moment. Water colours was an interest in my early life and I even won competitions as a kid. Business partner of my cousin Angela in Scotland does wonderful digital art.? She’s well known in Scotland for her art.? Jude |
开云体育Ooh I love that picture, Jude! ?I do have an iPad, an Air 2 so not the newest kind, but have never tried anything like that. ?My current fixation on my iPad is playing Words With Friends, or WordFeud, variations of Scrabble but handier to play as you can try out words, see your possible score, change your mind even. I used to play this on my MacBook Pro and I like the way you can start lots of new games with other people. You just get the very occasional creepy male, who tries to make conversation, find out where you live etc. but, if you don’t respond, they usually give up.Regards Susan

开云体育That is rather lovely, Jude!My iPad is great for reading, the newspapers, pdfs, books and the Internet, of course. ?I’ve had iPad Mini for several years but grew tired of squinting at the screen; this iPad Air 64Gb is a speedy device, with a lovely screen and thinner than a credit card (hyperbole alert . . .). But I love my MacBook as well. ?It’s great for photos processing while on the move and I can access files easily in the cloud (my iPad is a mobile data version and can provide good hotspot data. 开云体育I’ve had a couple of silver foxes try to contact me ….and a handsome Egyptian gentleman. I never reply - I’d have to say I’m a very much married woman :-)Jude On 19 Nov 2019, at 3:30 am, Purler <susan.platter@...> wrote: Ooh I love that picture, Jude! ?I do have an iPad, an Air 2 so not the newest kind, but have never tried anything like that. ?My current fixation on my iPad is playing Words With Friends, or WordFeud, variations of Scrabble but handier to play as you can try out words, see your possible score, change your mind even. 开云体育I never knew what they looked like, or where they were from, just found that ignoring, or giving pointedly brief replies, usually made them get the message!Regards Susan

开云体育Don’t say that too loud, Jude, or you could get inundated with nasty emails ?When the iPad first came out I said it was a toy since really all it seemed like to me was a machine to play games on. Now I edit photos on it, keep a journal on it, read email, Skype and lots of other things. I find myself using it more than my Mac mini. I have always thought iPads over rated and not changed my mind. Just as people buy one its already defunct pretty rapidly and people moving on to the next. ?Development on iPads( which is highly over priced) has resulted in neglect of the proper computers in my opinion. I blame Tim Cook of course. His heart is only in the money end of lightweight products like iPhones iPads watches -- the bottom line his only interest it seems.?

That question was asked at the meeting but never seemed to get answered. Aluminium would be fairly lightweight. The battery in it might add a bit of weight. People at the meeting were trying to figure if the sum total of the iPad Pro and the case was more or less than MacBook Air and similar models. ?Probably on the website it might say for each individual iPad what the weight is. ?Weight is important if you travel things of course. We have some members who go to some very remote places with their gear. Me personally iPhone does everything I want on a short trip. I had a fortnight in UK in March - just took iPhone..?

开云体育The iPad was first heralded while we still had our business and were paying outselves monthly pocket money! I had been saving my pocket money for some time, as I knew Apple would come up with something nice, and I pre-ordered one as soon as I heard about it. I moved on, later, to an Air, now an Air 2 and also have Harvey’s cast-off Mini that still runs iOS 9 and is useful for older apps that won’t run on the latest iOS.Regards Susan On 21 Nov 2019, at 00:14, Alice via Groups.Io <lwr32@...> wrote: Don’t say that too loud, Jude, or you could get inundated with nasty emails ?
