Not awake early this morning. Already 28deg and humid and oh for some crispy cold weather.?
It was our anniversary yesterday and had a quiet day but in the evening went out to a new Italian restaurant in a new dining complex.?
It was quite nice and we ate too much and we had a jolly time between us. I kidded our goddaughter in a text we were progressing on to the Casino and a strip club. But in fact we came hone to bed and a cuppa to let the food go down.

We were in fact married in the beautiful old Treasury Building which is now the Casino in the city.?

Anniversaries are for me to remind Pete he married me for ?3 and got a bargain. Do you know there’s no lists of anniversary presents after 50 - we shall have to start again where the jewels are on the list.

I have been talking about iPad Pro since before my birthday - rang my fav tech yesterday and he said Apple tell them nothing about what’s in the offing except he was predicting a new processor.?

However news this morning is full of new iPad Pro with new processor and led lighting possibly within days.?

So this maybe a good excuse of birthday and anniversary to splurge. Meantime I am trying to absorb the basics of ProCreate off videos to keep mind busy.?

That is the trick John to keep the mind busy, make small goals. ? I don’t always succeed but then there’s always tomorrow.?

Next project is shop for new suitcases. Plan an escape. ?Can’t go anywhere without suitcases.?

Sending virtual hugs?

Jude

I am quite worried about my father. He can't get upstairs to bed. He has a hospital bed in the front room. I think it was the loss of my mother that really hit him hard. She was sitting 3 feet between the two of us & she said:
"My husband lived on Sheepbridge lane."
& he said:
"What am I then, your fancy man?"
We only had one continental holiday as a family. In '79 we went to France & he loved Monbezillac. The grapes are deliberately infected with fungus to increase the sugar content. I got him 6 bottles before Xmas & he said:
"Well, I haven't seen this before!" That really hurt.

Yes, it hurts, but it’s not the same person, John. ?I have a similar problem with my mother: she can’t remember what we’ve discussed from one moment to the next.

And last night she phoned to say that she was flat on her back on the floor in the sitting room and couldn’t get up. ?I phoned a lady who looks after her, off and on, and she went to rescue her and to call for an ambulance. ?But it appears that she had drunk too much port, again, and had collapsed on the floor. ?It can’t go on. but she refuses any change of home etc . . .

Congratulations to you both, Jude.

I’m tempted by the iPads, to replace my Air from 2019, which has only 64Gb of storage. ?I might have a little dosh coming in from my very part-time job ? . . .

Don’t have anything paying me in part time work. But Covid has stopped a lot of people asking me to do things.
I am backing away from doing web page stuff and not been asked to do flyers and posters as no events on.
I might actually have time for some stuff for myself…. hence looking into the iPad….. waiting to see what Apple is going to produce.?

I am trying to talk my husband into writing that best seller that Hollywood might pick up ?— no results so far.
Plots sort of happen in front of us — or rather a lead into an interesting story and we mill it over but its not happening :-)?

I just checked in Easy Books as to when we bought my iPad Air 2 and it was February 2017 with 128GB, so, unless Apple does something drastic with the software, it should be fine for a good while yet. I play a lot of Words With Friends 2 on it, as well as other games, and I play WordFeud with our daughter. I do also use iMessage which confuses me by shouting at me from my iPhone as well! Doom will only run on Harvey’s old iPad Mini but I still enjoy it.?

That’s my approach - keep the brain active. Trying not to veg. I have told my husband to keep his xxxx together as he’s always inclined to be absentminded. I have told him I am not the keeper of his glasses or anything else!?

Dementia is hard to deal with - been there done that with late Mother in law. When I broached the subject with my SIL back then that something was wrong I got a very angry reaction and “how dare I say our mother was mad“ (which was not what I said).?

There were some very amusing incidents and some very worrying ones - but in the end a decision has to be made for the safety of that person as well as other people.?

It truly is a hard space between safety concerns and impinging on a persons individual personal freedom in regards to mental health or detoxing whatever the situation is. One doesn’t wrestle lightly.?

There are a lot of things we can't explain. I was fuming when physicists on a TV show were slagging of Jane Goodall:

Physicists can't explain how one photon or electron can go through a Youngs slit experiment & create a wave interference pattern. How does it know the other slit is there?
AND if you think that is weird there's the Einstein Podolsky Rosen phenomenon, what Einstein called "spooky action at a distance".
Northern Ireland physicist theorised how this could be:

But moreover French Physicist Alain Aspect got experimental data on quantum entanglement which proved that if you examine the spin of one photon entangled with another it will INSTANTLY go into the opposite spin state. I'm not talking at the speed of light here. IT IS INSTANT. You cant transmit data by this means, but how freaky is that?

I guess my seizures cannot be explained, but I think the stress of a drug dealer next door, at my last address, had a lot to do with it. It's gone down one hundred fold since I moved away

Down here this morning I read that a new iPad Pro is days away so am holding off for a while on buying. Tech ventured the thought it might have a new processor and the story this morning talked new processor and also mini led lights under screen or something. So I will be patient.
