Hi

Dear All,
I'm sorry to say when I woke up in Queen's Critical Care Unit at Nottingham, it wasn't a cry for help. I had truly had enough It went on 8 days a week, punishment beatings for him, because he'd been dealing on their "turfs". It's still taking me some time to get round this. I've had Doctor's & Nurses say "Well he's non compliant" so he can suffer longer. I heard a health care assistant quoting a nurse for pain relief "Well, she'll just have to wait"
John

I kind of liked teasing you guys, knowing we would all come out of it OK. It would just be a joke, a bit of fun. Now I am really not so sure. I'm not saying I'm certain things will be bad, but I've lost any optimism I had before.
I'm sorry to say that,
John

I am really not sure why, & I guess, I can only reach Jude & Peter at this time, but I am really depressed. I'm sorry
John

Things are on the up here. ?We’ve just come out of a stretch of mask wearing which was tiring but thats finished.
On the whole the population here has been very good about obeying rules with the exception of a few dealt with by police etc.?
I’ve seen articles in UK being slightly derisive of the Australian herd mentality of obeying rules for the greater good, but it seems to be working for us.

Aus has just approved the Pfizer vaccine and going to start dishing that out soon. My cousin Jonathon has been in charge of getting the Pfizer one registered and doing the paper work stuff in Kent.?

Aussie Mum has made an anti covid spray — so she’s not been idle. Got it through the TGA!! Good work that woman.

We’ve been mainly staying at home and pottering on which is a bit boring. I’m tidying my Mac while I decide to go forward to Big Sur. I think I have some things filed too deep so having been round the photo library I am slowly moving things about in the Docs folder.?

Apple aren’t leaving us with much options are they — a case of going right back where things just worked, or going right forward and trying to keep up.?

If I was my friend down the road who has the Mac Pro tower thats just been made obsolete with the M1 chip being released I think I would be a bit cross :-)?

Well, I don't think I can travel so more. What with the unpredictable seizures. The travel insurance would be sky high. I'd of kind of liked to see Australia, Antartica, Russia etc, but I saw the USA & Canada. so I guess I have to call it quits. I guess I'll just have to stop at calling Peter & Jude dumb;) & mowing the lawn for them.
Hugs John

Jude’s been having trouble with the group’s web interface, not getting emails, and I’m as much use as a bit of wet blotting paper. She says it isn’t showing the headings it ought to be and the threads are not organised properly. ?Any ideas, please, anyone?
Help!

I personally respect the rule-obeying “herd”; it is what will get us through this. ?I have my first vaccine appointment on Saturday of this week but have to travel a little (a very little by Oz standards!) to get there. There is said to be a centre being made, just up the road from us, within walking distance in fact, but not, it seems, for us locals! ?:D
How does an anti Covid spray work, like, where do you spray it? People, or places?

Bear in mind Susie, it will take up to 3 weeks for your body to develop some immunity. Only 3 weeks after the 2nd dose will you be able to be less cautious. There's quite a bit of Snow & ice here which seems to be keeping the "Mad Max motorcyclists" indoors. What a pity!;-)

I probably will not be following the herd as regards the vax. I am allergeic to penecillin, tetracycline, sulphonomide, have had anaphylactic reactions to both food and prescribed medicine, I’m also allergic to the propellant in cortisone injection so if thats needed its a two hour job on a drip otherwise it just aggravates the situation. ?I have never had a flu vaccine because of what its made on, and I have never had the flu. I have never had smallpox vax.?
I must have had a vac of some sort as a baby as I had a drastic response to a needle which contained tetanus but had dipheria in as well and that blew my left arm up to twice its size. Bit frightening.?

I understand the spray if you read the story is for spraying on surfaces basically. Fancy that woman being able to get that through the TGA and out on to the market.?

Three of my husband’s relatives on the Isle of Sheppey have all just had second round of covid vax and all ok.

Husband of one of his cousins at Bergh Heath has had first shot this week. Went ok.

Indeed. My wife has had the jab because she works part time as a spare cook at a care home. I am 74 and there is no sign of me getting mine. Of course if there is an infection in the care home then Toni is likely to bring it home to me. My wife is also in her 70’s so she has decided not to work until three weeks after I have had mine. We don’t need the money and she works ‘cos she likes working.

The Government have said that those in their 70’s and 80’s will have had their injections by the middle of next month - hopefully, but I doubt it. We are still isolating.
