Re: Nurse joke

Now if you were on a Ten pound Poms chat FB group you’d be in the naughty corner and get thrown off for those jokes.?

I got stomped on yesterday by FB for telling someone to use AppCleaner to remove a program to trash rather than sifting through umpteen folders in the library.. said my post contravened community rules and was bullying!! I didn’t take that lying down and protested they’d got it wrong and seconds later apology and reinstated the post.?

That’s my approach - keep the brain active. Trying not to veg. I have told my husband to keep his xxxx together as he’s always inclined to be absentminded. I have told him I am not the keeper of his glasses or anything else!?

Dementia is hard to deal with - been there done that with late Mother in law. When I broached the subject with my SIL back then that something was wrong I got a very angry reaction and “how dare I say our mother was mad“ (which was not what I said).?

There were some very amusing incidents and some very worrying ones - but in the end a decision has to be made for the safety of that person as well as other people.?

It truly is a hard space between safety concerns and impinging on a persons individual personal freedom in regards to mental health or detoxing whatever the situation is. One doesn’t wrestle lightly.?

There are people who are asthmatic or using oxygen etc where a mask is not appropriate or practical.

I discussed vax or no vax with GP as regards my issues of allergies and intolerances and anaphylactic reactions and I asked in the middle of the discussion if he was going to have one and he said it came down to personal choice.?

My neurologist chap is immune compromised he said so will be doing it but said I would have to rely on herd immunity with my history.?

In Australia there has been good acceptance of mask wearing and distancing when govt. says so. Some stores have signs no mask no entry.?

But when it comes down to it it’s up to you to police you for your own benefit, not police everyone else. That’s how I look at it. ?So on that basis when required we wear a mask. Currently this is not the case but we still abide by the distancing rules and do electronic checkin ( I came across one place that had check-in and check-out for iPhone ... that was new.?

I limit visits to stores and limit time I am there. I only shop about every ten days. If anyone is showing signs of coughing or flu I move away or leave.?

I’ve never had a flu vax and I’ve never had the flu.?

If I need a tetanus jab or anything GP sends me off for blood test first to test my immunity so I don’t have to risk anything I don’t need.?

I just don’t know what to think of the situation with people who cannot have a vaccination, as opposed to the anti-vaxxers. I don’t want to be mean and all that but, if I go into the supermarket or shop, dutifully wearing my mask, someone who is excused wearing it, quite legitimately, could easily be spreading infection all around. Some of them seem to think their excuse for not wearing one is the same as wearing one and they can go as close to others as they like, if you see what I mean. What is your take on this?
