There is none.? It's that simple.

Copilot integration is in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (at the moment, anyway).? Programs that are involved in content creation.? OneDrive is storage.

If you're an M365 subscriber, not using OneDrive is wasting money, since you get 1TB of storage as part and parcel of your subscription.? If you're not using M365, then the 5GB you get with OneDrive at no cost is not much space at all, so other options may be better.

It always does, really.? It also helps (and I should have, but didn't) to make the scope of an answer clear.? Since most of us here are either M365 Personal or Family subscribers, we don't have access to the use cases mentioned.? The first item on the page you gave the link to asks:

A: Copilot in OneDrive is currently available on OneDrive Web for commercial users only.

So, for most of us here, who are not commercial users, and who seldom use OneDrive Web, there's no connection at all between OneDrive and Copilot.

Well, I thought Joe's question was good. In my opinion, Microsoft gets very poor marks for its written communication skills of late whether one is addressing Copilot integration or the mess it made of its various versions of Outlook and which one is used for what. And it will be a cold day in hell before I use One Drive versus Dropbox regardless of the economic benefits of doing so. As we should all know, there are costs other than just money when choosing a software product to use.?

In fact, I can’t think of anyone in my personal or professional circle using
OneDrive. Those not on Dropbox are using Google Drive, which is its own
complication but one I’ve learned to deal.

In the end, it sounds as though I will have to use at least
some of the 1 TB of available space if I want CoPilot to work with multiple
files. I find this slightly irksome, but the point made about everything
working within an ecosystem somewhat makes sense. It does put a damper on the
sales pitch that CoPilot is somehow ubiquitous, particularly for PCs being
touted as CoPilot machines. Based on what I’m now learning, that isn’t exactly
true, is it?

For me, the two benefits for using OneDrive are not only the synchronization capabilities, which I know I could also set up with Dropbox or Google Drive, but the storage capacity. I don’t know what Google
or Dropbox would charge for a terabyte of storage but since I already get it with my M365 subscription it’s quite a benefit, as far as I’m concerned. I have hours of audio drama, TV shows as well as tons of books and having that terabyte of cloud storage is
so helpful for me.

This could be old info, however, when I had drop box, a TB of storage cost $150 per year. That remember is just for drop box, it obviously did not include any email programs.? I
thought, why should I pay that much when with office 365 included 1 TB of storage and came in at a cheaper price, from what I can remember.? ?

For me, the two benefits for using OneDrive are not only the synchronization capabilities, which I know I could also set up with Dropbox or Google Drive, but the storage capacity. I don’t know
what Google or Dropbox would charge for a terabyte of storage but since I already get it with my M365 subscription it’s quite a benefit, as far as I’m concerned. I have hours of audio drama, TV shows as well as tons of books and having that terabyte of cloud
storage is so helpful for me.

For my part, I have everything stored and shared on Dropbox. In fact, I can’t think of anyone in my personal or professional circle using OneDrive.
Those not on Dropbox are using Google Drive, which is its own complication but one I’ve learned to deal.

In the end, it sounds as though I will have to use at least some of the 1 TB of available space if I want CoPilot to work with multiple files. I
find this slightly irksome, but the point made about everything working within an ecosystem somewhat makes sense. It does put a damper on the sales pitch that CoPilot is somehow ubiquitous, particularly for PCs being touted as CoPilot machines. Based on what
I’m now learning, that isn’t exactly true, is it?

I use two devices, an iPhone 13 Mini and a desktop computer running Windows 10 and Office 2019 Pro as its main software along with several utility programs. I've found Dropbox to be exemplary as a bridge between my iPhone
and desktop computer through the years and my take on Microsoft's recent activity regarding Windows updates and what I mentioned regarding Copilot and Outlook to be abysmal especially for those of us dependent on accessibility software. I don't think they've
done much better with One Drive and its various iterations.?
I recognize I'm more than a bit of a dinosaur with my attitudes towards upgrades, etc. but as I've been using computers since 1981, please don't try to convince me of the error of my ways.?

Serious question:? Why?? I'm not asking you to justify your decision, but I'm always interested in people's rationales when it comes to things like this, particularly where intense dislike is involved.
I still use Google Drive a lot mostly for things like the tutorials I write because I expect that my Google Accounts will still be around long after I'm dead and gone unless someone who's settling my estate were to delete
them (which I won't be directing them to) while my OneDrive data will go with me after my death because I won't be paying for the service to continue.
But one thing I love about OneDrive (and it's not really a OneDrive feature, but what third parties have elected to do with OneDrive sharing links) is that sharing links are almost always presented as the file or folder
name of the thing being shared when pasted into messages such as this one.? A good example of that being the screenshot I used in the tutorial the other day that shows the bottom of the Subscription Cancellation window for Microsoft Family 365.? I didn't create
the hyperlink to the file, , myself.? I just pasted in the OneDrive sharing link and the Groups.io software snagged the actual filename and hyperlinked it automatically.?
I'm seeing that happen all over the place when it comes to online venues and OneDrive sharing links.? Why most of them did not and do not do this for other file sharing services including but not limited to Dropbox and Google Drive I do not know.? But when
I'm sharing a file from Google Drive I end up manually creating a download link and then using that to manually create the hyperlink with the name/description of the thing being linked to.? It's a far more tedious process (which is why I have an MS-Word file
where I keep the hyperlinks I've created, adding new ones over time, so I only have to do this once).

Which is why I say, even if it cost $10 per year, and you are not using more than 1 TB storage to begin with and are an M365 user, it makes no sense to purchase additional third party cloud storage.? Since 1 TB comes "with the M365 seat" why not just use it?

The least expensive is the Plus level at $9.99 per month for 2 TB storage, and that's at the annual billing rate, which is less expensive than monthly, and comes out to $119.88/year.? Even if I had to use 2 of the 6 seats available under M365 (and I could with two separate Microsoft Accounts) and at the Copilot enabled Family subscription rate of $129.99 per year, that would still leave 4 shareable seats all of which have 1 TB of their own.? And even though you can't "own" all 6 TB of Family storage under a single Microsoft Account, you can set up sharing folders between accounts, allowing you to easily shuttle things to whichever seat you wish.? Even after decades of collecting stuff and not being nearly as good about cleaning up after myself as I should be, I still have used only a hair over half of that 1 TB I have for my seat.

It's interesting how people pick and choose favorites, and no one is right or wrong about any of them, because it comes down to a matter of taste.? But when it comes down to costs, regardless of what your favorite may be, that can't be argued.? I have never been able to stand Dropbox and it's the least preferable file sharing service of "the big ones" for me.? But I never used any file sharing other than Google Drive prior to dumping Office 2016 for M365.? The fact that I can have direct access to the same data store on every PC I have an account on in my household (3) as well as my mobile devices (2) was like nothing short of a miracle.? When you add in that the same is true for my partner and brother-in-law, who are the 2 people with whom M365 seat sharing is active, there is simply nothing out there that beats $99.99 (no Copilot) or $129.99 (Copilot for the primary subscriber) for that kind of cloud storage space coupled with the latest and greatest of the Office suite tools plus a couple more.

Straight out of the box, if you set up Windows 11 with a Microsoft Account, the classic Documents, Pictures, and Music libraries are redirected to OneDrive from the moment you first get to your desktop.? If you're an M365 user, that means the 1 TB of space that comes with M365, if you're a non-M365 user the redirection is to the free OneDrive which only has 5GB storage (which is a PITA, and I don't think should be done, as 5GB is just not enough space for virtually anyone - and you end up "redirecting the redirection" back to use the disk drive on the computer).

But I'm constantly walking into situations where the client swears they're not using OneDrive, but they are, because it's so tightly integrated with both Windows 11 and M365.? They just have no idea that they are.

I don't know of many professional offices that do use M365 that don't also use OneDrive where it syncs to the SharePoint storage they get with the business subscriptions to M365 (and which also tends to involve Teams, too).

Oh, for sure. My office environment, for example, is tightly integrated with OneDrive. On my home laptop though, for my contract work from whom I was given the business M365 license, I’m still on Windows 10 and therefore continue relying on Dropbox. I’ll bet you’re right that more people are likely working off the OneDrive backbone, but when files are shared, more often than not, they’re still mostly coming from Dropbox or Google Drive, not that I believe my experience is a sufficient sample to make broad assumptions. This might change after this October and more machines are nudged toward Windows 11, but I don’t know, when I carry 4 TB on Dropbox and have my life basically established there, it would be a hard sale to switch platforms, hence why I find it interesting that CoPilot insists on leaning on OneDrive when CoPilot Pro works with the Office suite regardless of Windows 10 or 11. The ecosystem point makes total sense though. I can’t blame Microsoft for relying on its own tlatforms to deliver what’s likely the most optimal integration. ?
