Outlook using 365 & JAWS 2020 on Windows 10

开云体育

Hello all,

A lot of great information here. I have an issue where my JAWS goes silent or rather crashes whenever I try to read an email message.

I minimize the window, sometimes JAWS restores function, sometimes I have to reopen JAWS.

Leo, I am also unable to get misspelled words to speak with a different voice in the attributes page. I've tried a couple of different settings but it doesn't work for me, unless there's something that I'm missing. If it isn't an error on my part then it could be a bug with JAWS.

Have you activated the "Add" button so that you can specify which attributes you want JAWS to speak in a different voice? If you tab through the dialog you should encounter an "Add" button. Activate this button and you should encounter various check boxes for specific attributes.

Questions about outlook 365

开云体育

Hi,

?

When I click on an email link, instead of opening a new message and putting the address in the to field jaws 2020 says add an account, but if I copy the link and open a new message and paste the address in, it is fine, how can I get outlook to automatically open a new message when I click on an email link?

?

When I am deleting messages why doesn’t the delete key delete the message? Is there any way to make this happen? And if I do ctrlD to delete the message, can I make outlook go into the next message and start reading it instead of having to press enter on each message I want to read?

?

Thanks

Conscdering that I was able to get a fully edited transcript turned around on an AppleVis podcast in a few days, I'd say they are not working very hard to make it happen. We make noprofit off of anything we do. The going rate for professional transcription is roughly $75 an audio hour. I guess we now know how little equal access is worth monitarily. Quite sad, isn't it? I've also noticed Hadley doesn't have an issue providing them either.

Have you activated the "Add" button so that you can specify which attributes you want JAWS to speak in a different voice? If you tab through the dialog you should encounter an "Add" button. Activate this button and you should encounter various check boxes for specific attributes.

Misspelled attribute in speech and sounds scheme

开云体育

Hello everyone,

First and foremost, I want to thank the owners and moderators of this list for making possible such a useful group. As ?a college student, I have to say that it’s very important for me being able to squeeze ?the best from Microsoft Word. Now to my point.

?

As some of you may know, through the feature called speech and sounds schemes, we can set a particular scheme ?to have jaws announcing attributes with a different voice. However, no matter what I do, I just can’t make jaws announce the attribute misspelled word using a different voice. So, my question? is how to make this work?

?

I’m using office 2019 and jaws 2020 latest compilation.

?

Thanks for any info!

Best,

Leo

Conscdering that I was able to get a fully edited transcript turned around on an AppleVis podcast in a few days, I'd say they are not working very hard to make it happen. We make noprofit off of anything we do. The going rate for professional transcription is roughly $75 an audio hour. I guess we now know how little equal access is worth monitarily. Quite sad, isn't it? I've also noticed Hadley doesn't have an issue providing them either.

Thanks, but I'm actually referring to a situation where someone else has already edited the document, and I need to find out ow the document was before that person edited it. So this document was already in the hands of two other people at least before me.

Hello,

JAWS 2020, Word 2016. I'm working with a potential employer who gave
me a sample document to work on editing. There are revisions placed in
the document which may need to be reverted if they are wrong. I know
how to delete a revision or reject the change, but in order to reject
the change I need to know what was in the original document. What's
the best way to compare the revision with the original document using
JAWS?

Alternatively, if you press Alt + F7 focus should move to the incorrect word and you can launch the context menu to view the corrections list. You can keep using this shortcut key till outlook tells you that there are no more corrections in the mail. HTH.

NVDA users have a similar command to move from one spelling error to the next when in Word or when composing a message in Outlook.

1. Press insert-space to switch from the default focus mode to browse mode.

2. Press W to move to the next word containing an error and shift-W for the previous error.

Users who choose to purchase the Leasey addon for JAWS have some additional methods which I'll address in another message.

Hi Walter.
I assume you are using f7? I've not used that method in quite awhile, but am not having issues with the other method. If you press Insert z to turn Quick Keys on, you can then press m to jump from mistake to mistake. When a misspelled word is found, press the Applications key or Shift F10 to bring up a list of suggestions and press enter to make the change. If you are using NVDA, I'm sorry, I do not have an answer for you.

I hope this helps,

Jaws2020 and Outlook 2016

开云体育

Hi All,
?
A friend is having the problem below and asks the following.? He's running Windows 10, J2020 latest and Outlook 2016.
?
?I have a JAWS + Outlook question for you. Do you have any information on how I can make JAWS and Outlook interact more smoothly? Each time I arrow up or down in the inbox, I have to press the JAWS key + the up arrow in order to get it to read the first line of the message before I decide whether I want to open it or not. Is there a way to get it to read just by arrowing up or down? Thanks for your help with this.??
?
I don't use Outllook 2016 and can't help him.? If anyone knows how to fix this, would you please give him a hand?? It would be greatly appreciated.? Thanks much.

Take care.? Mike.? Sent from my iBarstool.? Go dodgers!

Re: Creating filters which will move messages to certain mailboxes

I found an easy way, if you have an e-mail from the person/list serv for
whom you want to create the rule.

1. Open the message
2. Press alt followed by H, then R, then R again.
3. You will see a message something like: "Always move messages from ??"
where the ?? is filled in with the address from the sender.
Press enter if the information is correct.

4. Once you've pressed enter on the above #3, you will be able to choose
which folder you want the messages to be saved to.
The last folder used will appear, but you can either arrow up and down to
find the folder you want, or use 1st letter navigation.

Hope this helps,
Pamela

Hi,
I can do this in other e-mail programs but never learned with Office 365.
Is there a good solid tutorial that covers this.
In fact I just thought that perhaps Brian Hartgen does cover this in his two
outlook tutorials.
But I'll take any suggestion.
Thank you.

Andre Polykanine

Hello Walter,
There is a setting for it.
1. Press Alt+F to open the File menu.
2. Go down to Options.
3. In the Categories list arrow down to Mail.
4. Tab several times (here it's three tabs away) until you hear
"Always Check Spelling before Sending". Check the box.
5. Press OK to exit Options.

Hope that helps.
