Earth == Ground, and was obtained in the past by use of a Ground Rod, driven into the earth. -----Original Message-----

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIndeed, but there is much confusion between
that definition of 'earth/ground', 'safety earth/protective
earth conductor/grounded [or is it 'grounding'?] conductor' and
'zero-voltage reference point' - the point in a circuit relative
to which voltages? (except differential voltages) are normally
measured. On 2025-02-18 19:02, Bell, Dave via

I'm pretty sure that he meant wiring or routing, like plumbing in a house. Plumbing generally has to have its installation pre-designed, or otherwise installed by a certain set of rules, much like electrical wiring does.
It's not simply a language error, German for wiring is Verdrahtung while plumbing as we usually conceive of it is Sanit?r. |
