Re: Simulation runs very slowly: test.asc
Thanks Andy, for the explanation. I¡¯ll look again. Those three commands did come up, but when I did a control F and entered round, nothing came up. I¡¯ll look again. Sent: Sunday, April 6, 2025

Re: Simulation runs very slowly: test.asc
Hi Tony, thanks. I extracted your zip file into a folder and ran your .asc from there. Would you still recommend your 1st paragraph to fix the problem? ¡°The ideal current source causes the LM317A

Re: Simulation runs very slowly: test.asc
Those error messages will continue.? It concerns a diode parameter N, which had been set to an extremely small value.? Until recently, that was accepted by LTspice despite being unreasonably

Re: Simulation runs very slowly: test.asc
Aah. I think LTspice didn't update the symbol reference in the schematic. Delete the LM317A symbols from the schematic and reload the replacement symbol LM317A.asy. It sounds like the old symbol was

Re: Simulation runs very slowly: test.asc
Thank you, Tony, for the corrected Lib file. I got the file I was using from one posted this year in the user¡¯s temp folder. Maybe you¡¯d like to post an update? I intended that RL2 have 10mA

Re: Simulation runs very slowly: test.asc
I fixed all the anomalies in the TI LM317A model, so there are no errors or warnings. I also implemented the small changes in PSRR. The reason your 2 circuits deliver different results is that 2nd one

Yes, because that only works for .AC simulation, which assumes that everything is linear, and that is unlikely to give you the correct result for PSRR. -- This email has been checked for viruses by

Re: Simulation runs very slowly: test.asc
The LT1083 comes in my standard library. If I substitute it for the LM317, I get no error messages. The PSRR is till poorer for OUT2. Do you still think configuring V1 as I did is incorrect? Sent:

Re: Simulation runs very slowly: test.asc
Your LM317A_TRANS symbol has the path on your computer to the model hard-coded in its Attributes. OK, that can be fixed, but you should be aware of this pesky feature that causes trouble every time

Re: .MEAS scripting
If you want to keep track of voltage nets or nodes, you can give them a label name such as a or b, or in or out.? And use those names if you want.

Re: Simulation runs very slowly: test.asc
You didn't upload the LM317 model. Your 12 V DC source doesn't have a sine wave superimposed. You do that by adding a sine generator in series. You can probably disregard the warnings abut curly

Re: Simulation runs very slowly: test.asc
Correction: the TI LM317 datasheet Figure 8 shows about 65dB at 25?C, not 57dB, which is over all temperatures. But Figure 8 is not reliable, because it shows the additional 10uF capacitor on ADJ
