Ah, phooey, I've gotten it all mixed up. Nope, it's not the TL341 OR the TLV431...what I am really trying to find is a model for the LM4041 or ANY shunt 1.225 volt reference (not adjustable, although at this point I'd take anything).

Is there a diode model I can just set the forward voltage to 1.225 and be done with it? That's all I really need. VB, Maturin --- In LTspice@..., "Gandolf" <charlesknouse27@...> wrote:

I looked! I swear on my mother's grave!! However, in this case I must have gotten dyslexic: I appear to have searched for TLV341 instead of TLV431. However, I FIRST searched for the LM4041, and I swear to God there is no reference to the LM4041 anywhere in the LTspice/files table of contents. Then I went to the Pspice models for TI, and there was no model for it there, either. Arrrrg. Drat!! So I switched to the TLV431 as a substitute. My previous difficulty with finding LED models was due to not knowing to search under "diode" for an LED. Now, I DID know that an LED was a diode, LOL, but it didn't occur to me to search under "diode" as the master category. It's not for lack of searching...it's lack of knowing how to find what I'm looking for in some cases. Unfortunately for EE-quality members in this forum, LTspice enables rank amateurs like me to play with electronics LOL. Another big part of this: it's a lot easier to find something when you already know for sure it's there ;) In any case, please know I am very grateful indeed for the helpful pointers to the right places to look. I am constantly learning from this group. VB, Maturin --- In LTspice@..., "Tony Casey" <tony@...> wrote:

Re: need help making Help for diode modeling program work

However, I have a leeeetle question: In the Help, it says that the 3rd forward characteristics box is for the difference between the first two measurements (I think...there's also something in there about difference between "ideal" and "measured")... ...but when I entered the differences in voltage and current between my first 2 measurements into the 3rd box, it simply errorred (microsoft doesn't think "errorred" is a word, but I disagree)... ...when I entered values into box 3 from much higher up on the Id vs Vf graph, it did not error. So, presumably, the 3rd box is for values much higher up on the graph. ??????? BTW, I tried values for the 3rd box that were higher, but only moderately higher than the "knee" value, and the program wouldn't accept them. It wasn't until I took values much higher up, well into the saturated portion of the graph, that the program accepted them. FINALLY, my simulation is now happy...thank God. And thank Hendrik Van Zwerver. VB, Maturin For anyone who might care (doubtful), here's what I ended up with for the Kingbright WP710A10SRC (660 nm 3 mm T1) LED: .model WP710A10SRC d( + IS=4.58E-13 N=2.973 RS=1.197388 + EG=1.43 XTI=3) --- In LTspice@..., "Helmut" <helmutsennewald@...> wrote:

WHERE IS THE MODELING FILE?

Dave Wade G4UGM Illegitimi Non Carborundum -----Original Message-----%20Tools/Diode/ and downloaded the files. I have the program for modeling diodes installed, and have downloaded the Help file/program, but I can't get the Help to run. It gives the error message something to the effect that "access to the webpage has been canceled" Can anyone help me get this help to work? I didn't cancel anything that I know of, and I downloaded the Help again and tried to open it a second time, but not luck. I did my best to "fly blind" with the program, but it also gave me an error, saying one of my values was non-computable. Since I had done my best to take the values right from the datasheet graph, I need the Help to help me figure out how to make it work. VB, Maturin ------------------------------------ Yahoo! Re: Arbitrary WaveForm Generator
A voltage (or current) source with the PWL (Piece-Wise Linear) option
is the way to generate arbitrary waveforms in the time domain. A PWL source can load a separate file that has the PWL data. The format is (time, voltage) or (time, current), the reverse of what you listed. Use decimal, not binary data. If you need to stimulate three sources simultaneously, I think you need to have three PWL files, one for each. Andy |

Arbitrary WaveForm Generator
LTspice,
I need to create an arbitray waveform generator that will be used for simulation. I need to have the discrete steps that a D/A would present to my system. Is it possible to feed a text file(at a specific rate) to a simulation and turn on/off current sources. I need to have several text files(waveforms) to experiment with. I will "try" and create an example asc file and upload. I will call it AWG.asc Thanks, GDN ----------------------------------------------------------- Example ramp text file for 3 bit D/A. 000 t1 001 t2 010 t3 ... tn 111 tn+1 |
