Re: Analog Devices to buy LT!
ADI has its own in-house simulator, ADICE. It doesn't have the integrated schematic capture and waveform processing tools, but it's a very nice simulator.? They're not likely to make it available to non-employees any more than they're likely to discard a superb customer tool like LTspice.? With any luck they'll create LTspice models for their offerings. ?? Craig On Jul 27, 2016 11:21 PM, "Vlad imbvlad@... [LTspice]" <LTspice@...> wrote:

acquisition is for synergy hence lower cost the
product lines will be affected

Re: Analog Devices to buy LT!
How will this affect LTspice? These news come very soon after the XVII alpha, it sounds very strange for me. I hope things will not change for Mike's sector. Re: Pending acquisition of LTC by ADI
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýAgree. Mike is associated with the power management group and has no ¡°mandate¡± to deal with RF parts, for example (he told me this on his last World Tour). Would not surprise me if that continues. A change would be pleasant.Jim James Wagner Oregon Research Electronics

Re: Pending acquisition of LTC by ADI
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýNot likely, right now LTspice models
for many LT parts are not available since LTspice tends to cater
to their department mostly.

Re: Analog Devices to buy LT!
Greetings. ADI has a good CAD org and I know most of those people,, They have 1 or 2 extremely talented algorithmic specialists.. Long term they will integrate Mike into that organization unless otherwise he chooses to be in his design role.. Based on their PMIi acquisition model, I can make the following predictions.. They will not disturb the design centers or the market and product space for LTC products.. However thee will be an effort at consolidating the wafer fab areas and roll them into their IRISH and other overseas fabs.. Both companies have a strong applications organization and it will be interesting ?to see how they converge.. Same goes for the sales force.... The 2 companies have a similar design culture but have a vastly different sales and applications focus. Enough said... AG |

That would be really great!!......now we wait do ti to aquire ltc and adi next to extend library more....that would be really great! On 27 Jul 2016 23:07, "helmutsennewald@... [LTspice]" <LTspice@...> wrote:

Re: Analog Devices to buy LT!
Hello,
I see no problem for the future of LTspice after this acquisition by Analog devices. I read in the web that ADI is very interested on the power management ICs from LTC. I also see the advantage that all the SPICE models from ADI will be available/compatible for LTspice in the long run. Watch the nice double-logo on this page. ?
