We could give you an explanation (those details are starting to come back to me) -- but it might be best to ignore why it happens.? I think it's best considered a "bug".
I'm pretty sure it affects only the visual display in the waveform plot window, so doesn't affect the measured rise and fall times (unless you only eyeball them).
