As well as having a VHS video recorder, the important part that has been
missed out, is we operate on a signal called PAL, does Australia use PAL
as well?

Yes, PAL it is.  (although many Aussie machines read NTSC as well, in
keeping with our tradition of taking the best from Europe and from America).

Good point Bruce. Australia operates with PAL and is proud of the fact.
