FT8 and FT4
These modes can not be a free for all. I am currently working 15M FT8 (as signed up on sheet) but someone else is on there also. Cause I am getting signal reports and RR73 for stations I am not working. DE AA4SS

It's business as usual on 20m FT8. I'll take a look at FT4 as well just for giggles in a little while. 73, Kay N3KN

Submitting log files 6
David, would you please refresh my (our?) memory about the file name that's preferred for submiting our logs to you? I believe we can either send an adif or a Cabrillo format, but I kinda remember that last year there was a preferred way to name our files so you'd know who sent what. Thanks! On another topic -- I dropped off the Facebook page for the 13 Colonies event last evening because I finally got fed up with people snarking & barking at each other. During the event, there's been criticism and complaints from newbies and old goats and assorted know-it-alls on that page about the operating habits and the availability of many of the operations. There has never been one single gripe, however, about K2B. Not one. To me, that says that our group has done a pretty good job of being on the air on the various bands and modes to provide opportunities for the chasers to work us and attain their desired goals. Good job, y'all. 73, Kay N3KN

Free For All Friday? 12
In the past, there has ben a tradition (?) of, for the last day, no-holds-barred. Anyone who wants to get on the air, no matter if there are several ops per band, may do so. I believe at least two of the other colonies will be doing this. I don't care, one way or the other. Throwing it out there for the group. I recall, there may be some technical reasons why this should not be done in digital modes (Tim, AA4SS, can you chime in here?). David, K2WPM

5PM 20M CW Slot
I just cleared the 5PM slot on 20M CW. Thunderstorms have been popping up all around me most of the day. There's very little movement and very random, so I'm going to keep the tower cranked down for now. Later or tomorrow. Chuck K4QS

I took myself off the sked for this afternoon because thunderstorms are arriving soon and lasting all afternoon. Anyone who can run 40 SSB is welcome to it. 73, Kay N3KN

Fw: [LongIslandCWClub] 13 Colonies Event Logging
If you are sending for your paper as well On Wed, 5 Jul, 2023 at 9:18 AM, Lane WK4WC #497 <lane.kendall@...> wrote: To: [email protected] Hello All If you hate keeping a paper log for 13 colonies like I do, this may be of interest to you. N1MM (free logging program) has a template (User Defined Contest) for 13 Colonies. I used it this time and it works great. You can create an ADIF file from the N1MM 13 Col log. On the 13 Colonies Log Sheet page there is a link for "Automated Form Generator". Just fill in the form with your name, call etc. and upload your ADIF file. The form will be "AutoMagically" filled in for you. No muss no fuss. You still have to snail mail the form but this makes the process easier. 73 Lane WK4WC

What does -@ signify?
It means the station posted the spot in the DX Summit web interface. If you post through some other mechanism, like Telnet or via an application, the -@ won't be appended. Bands Dead 3
I just took a look around the CW portions and everything is dead from 80M through 6M with the exception of a few signals on 40M. Just echoing K0ZR's comment on the spreadsheet. Chuck K4QS

K2B Wednesday 15m FT8 Operation
Just finished 1.5 hrs FT8 on 15. No lack of traffic there. Started my beam in Caribbean, slowly moved around the compass to EU then JA and OC. Lots of JA. Conditions are good! Dave KE4S

There's huge gaps in the schedule today and tomorrow. I filled10 hours yesterday, but I can't possibly fill 20 slots today! Can people try to do an hour today to give us some coverage. And maybe tomorrow too? Especially 40 and 20 meter SSB. I know it's not a contest, but I'd hate to see our state be humiliated like it was a few years ago. Thanks for everyone's efforts. David, K2WPM

Fun begins! 11
I picked up K2B on 40 phone from John at 10 am and ran pretty steadily until noon. Spotted myself twice. Made 312 contacts (one is a duplicate), for a rate of 156 an hour. Got called by WM3PEN with an old friend at the mic. Gosh that's fun! 73, Kay N3KN

20 FT8/4 today
I made 35 QSOs on 20 meters FT8 and FT4. I started at 3 PM, moved from FT8 to FT4 at 4 pm, and ended at 4:25 because there just wasn't enough business. My heat pump is working again so the radio room isn't 88 degrees any more. 73, Kay N3KN
