Re: FT8 Log
For FT4 and FT8 I am just using the adi file generated by WSJT-X. When it’s all over, I will import those contacts into N1MM+. Not concerned about dupes.? I back up to the cloud both my N1MM+ log and the WSJT-X log, both in adi format.? Thunder heard here in Blacksburg around 4:20 pm so I stopped operating 20 FT4 and disconnected.? 73, Kay N3KN On Thu, Jul 4, 2024 at 4:09?PM George Marzloff K4GM via <COUNTRYPOOL2019=[email protected]> wrote:

T-storms have arrived!
Totally disconnected as of 3:00 p.m. — first of multiple waves of T-storms has just arrived from the NW. At least they’re bringing much-needed rain.
At the halfway point for 13 Colonies 2024, I’ve managed 720 CW QSOs in 9.5 hours’ operating time. Most of that is from CQing on 20 meters, with brief forays to 15 and 40 in yesterday’s 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. CWTs, plus 30 minutes on 15, just before shutting down for the storms. Unfortunately, there are 29 “dupes” in my QSO totals. Not sure why the dupe count is so high in this event but maybe those are “insurance contacts”. Band conditions have not been particularly great, and I’ve had to ask for callsign repeats numerous times despite enjoying a generally quiet receiving location. It’s been gratifying to see near-continuous DX Cluster spotting of K2B CW operation from nodes all around the globe. And at one point on the first or second day I saw eight K2x CW stations spotted at one time on 20 CW. If it looks like this QTH is not going to be clear of T-storms in time for my scheduled 10 p.m. 20-meter CW hour, I’ll erase my call — probably some time after 9:30 or so. Bud, W2RU |

Re: Dropping 80m CW in 7-8pm slot...
40 SSB was okay earlier in the morning. I did about 140 between 9 and 11 but it was very very slow at times. And noisy. I think N3MN did okay in the 8-9 hour. Hoping thunderstorms don’t mess us up later today. 73, Kay N3KN On Thu, Jul 4, 2024 at 12:11?PM David Wright K2WPM via <dwright=[email protected]> wrote: Giving up on 40 meters SSB 12:00 - 1:00 if anyone else is able. |

Re: Hurricane Beryl - Avoid 14.325 and 7.268
UPDATE: Tuesday, July 2, 2024 @ 11:00 AM EDT (1500 UTC) Hurricane Beryl should remain south of the Dominican Republic and Haiti today. The past few Advisories from the National Hurricane Center have the forecast track moving slightly to the right each time. This movement is bringing Hurricane Beryl extremely close to making landfall in Jamaica. As of Advisory 16 timestamped 11:00 AM EDT (1500 UTC), the forecast track brings Beryl onshore Jamaica around midday Wednesday. The Hurricane Watch Net will activate tomorrow, Wednesday, July 3rd, at 7:00 AM EDT (1100 UTC) on 14.325.00 MHz, and at 8:30 AM EDT (1230 UTC), or just as soon as the Waterway Net has completed, on 7.268.00 MHz. Any additional change to the forecast track could bring Hurricane conditions, perhaps, even landfall, on Thursday across the Cayman Islands. We will watch the track closely! The Hurricane Watch Net is also preparing for a Friday activation for when Hurricane Beryl is expected to make landfall in the Yucatan of Mexico. As always, we greatly appreciate the daily users and various nets who use 14.325.00 MHz and 7.268.00 MHz for allowing us a clear frequency. It certainly makes our job easier and I know those in the affected area appreciate it as well. Our prayers go out to those who could be affected by Hurricane Beryl. HWN is prepared, ready to serve, and do what we can to help save lives. Kind Regards and God Bless, Bobby Graves - KB5HAV Hurricane Watch Net Net Manager |
Re: Sign up sheet
Also, if you are signed up for a time slot such as 9 - 10 PM, but end up QRTing early at 9:30, place a Comment (Shift-F2) in the Excel cell saying "XX4XX QRT 9:30" so someone else who is interested can see you adjourned early.? W2WCM is signed up for 9 to 10 am 20 meter SSB
No sign of K2B on 20 meter phone. No spots. I went up and down the phone band, no sign of K2B. NX3A is on 7214, please spot him. Nice little pile up, Carl. If people cannot do their slot, please delete your call so folks like me -- who may have an hour free in an otherwise hectic day -- can get on and do an hour. As it is, empty air. Other K2 stations have been spotted at least a hundred times this morning ... David, K2WPM |
Re: Please use DXSummit
I wasn't sure of the protocol for this so I was listening to N2YO as he finished his shift last night. He sent my call a couple of times and handed it off after I responded. So that worked, too. Please use DXSummit
Please feel free to spot yourself, and other K2B ops.
Before starting a slot, I suggest you check to see if there is another K2B op finishing up on your band/mode. Locate them at their frequency and do a hand-off, if you can. You can also use DXSummit if you are going on one of the less-popular bands, like 10, 15, 17 and 75 meters. Look where other K2 stations are operating and set up near them. Like why CVS sets up across the street from a Walgreens..... Suggest if you don't already know, to learn to use DXSummit filter. In "search" type K2 and hit return. It should then show you spots for all the K2 stations. Yes, if you're K2B it's a little depressing. But maybe we can change that. David, K2WPM |
