K2B 1300-14:39
I managed 61 CW contacts on 40m in 1:39 before deep QSB and heavy QRN made it impossible to copy anyone below S4.
It went well. I was running at 21 wpm, and QRS for the slow ops who answered. My sign-off was "TU GBA". I'll sign up for some more slots after I tweak my N1MM function keys to better control the new K4. Where should I self-spot? -- 73, Mike N4CF Louisa County, VA USA Elecraft K4d / KPA500 / KAT500 Carolina Windom up 45' |

40 FT8 this morning
After a seamless handoff from WA8AHZ at 11 AM, I made 92 contacts on 40 FT8. Fortunately, 40 is behaving like 40 right now -- not going so long that you can't work the closer-in states. The most interesting contact I've had so far in the event was being called by W3SA on 40 phone yesterday morning. The previous holder of that call, who's been a Silent Key for some years now, gave me my Novice test 40 years ago. 73, Kay N3KN |

k2h
Can someone let K2H and K2A know that they need to click HOLD TX while running FT8 (17M)? please??? they both are hopping? all over the waterfall, even walked on me where I've been since 11. Someone needs to teach etiquette to the FT8 ops that have no clue. Ive QSY per sked tro 20 but that type of operation is not what the event condones, or has not in the past...Thanks

Re: First 20 Sat QSOs
Cool! I'm at 26.? 20 on RS44.? Several west coast, 1 XE, 1 VE.? ?Wet trees not helping my signal below 15-20 deg (sigh). And my azimuth rotator control went wonky sitting idle between Field Day and now; running manual rotator control until I figure out what quit working. For your & KN2K's info, I will be off the birds from ~1530 EDT today until ??, you guys have fun! So far I've heard K2A, K2B, K2D, K2F, K2L, and K2M on satellites.? Not worrying about a sat sweep this year (so far).? I've given K2B out a few times to other K2* stations if it was slow.? Worked K2K (AB1OC) on 40M.? Need K2A, K2D, K2G, and WM3PEN on HF for the sweep.?? 73 Steve KS1G On Sat, Jul 2, 2022 at 11:17 AM Ray Crafton via <crohtun=[email protected]> wrote: Done and backed up to ADIF. 18 on RS-44, 2 on XW-2A. Re: 160M Dead Friday Evening

Re: Newbie questions
I've been hanging out about 7.045. Somewhere above .025 and avoid .040 (FT4 on 40M) Same game plan for other bands. Use whatever speed you can copy. Most people will either be slower or try to match your speed. Here's what I do:

TX: CQ CQ K2B K2B RX: callsign TX: callsign 599 VA RX: report (be ready to ask for their state) TX: TU K2B I don't really add much to the QSO unless it seems like a good idea. Every now and then, I dit-dit or 73 is OK. Self spot if you can. When things get slow, I send out a spot. With N1MM, enter K2B in the callsign window, then Alt-P to post, Alt-W to clear the window. Hope this helps! Good luck. 73 W7IY On 7/2/22 04:09, Mike Dodd wrote:

Re: Newbie questions
1.? The regular band plans apply.
If you want to see where other K2* stations operate, go to dxsummit. You can spot yourself, and see where others are - no need to sign up. Here is the one I use, with filters to catch 13 Colonies. 2.? Most say 59 VA.? Beyond that, up to you. 3.? Hadn't heard that one, but no reason why not. 4.? Usually you would indicate 13 Colonies in your CQ.? That's easy for voice.? In CW I think most use CQ 13COL. 5.? No power limit ... except legal limit. GL and good hunting. David, K2WPM |

Noise Floor
开云体育Good Morning All,My noise floor is 10 over on 80, and for that matter on 40 as well. I am unable to hear just about anything. If anyone is available to pickup the 7-9 shift, it would be great. ?Thanks in advance if you can. I did work 9-11:30 last night on 40 and got around 300 contacts. Had to stop because the brain was jelly at that point but people were still calling. This is all a lotto fun. ?Good luck to everyone! |
