migrated scripts failed to work

Hello,
I just installed Jaws 2025 and I chose the option to migrate all settings. All my own scripts got migrated, but none of them is working. When I press the keystroke for my particular script, Jaws would say, "Unknown script called..." How do I fix this issue? And the Jaws script manager announces compiling errors about their own existing scripts. This issue began with Jaws 2024 which is the version I skipped over.

Thank you.

Shirley?

Shirley,

I have two options and hopefully there are better solutions, but you can
try these:

Open the program where you have youre own script for.
Go to scriptmanager and press ctrl+s to compile again.
If this is not working:

This option is quite rigorous, but it probably helps. You will then need to
set the settings for jaws, such as tutor level etc aginn.
You cannot do this while Jaws is running or you have to set jaws to an
other language if you have that option. Else use narrator or NVDA.

Copy the below path and paste it in the startmenu and press enter.
%appdata%\Freedom Scientific\JAWS\2025\Settings\enu"

Delete all default.* files there except the default.jdf, because that is
the dictionary.

Now when starting Jaws you have to do all your standard isettings again,
but I am sure this will solve your problem.

Kind regards, Marten

Hi, Marten,
Thank you for your ideas which are much appreciated. I wasn't comfortable enough with deleting the default files. Instead, I just deleted my scripts from the default script manager and then rewrote the scripts for individual apps and now it is working okay. It's just the default script manager that is buggy.

Thank you, and happy 2025!

Shirley
