Re: PS-150 PS voltages
All great information and thank you. I have found that R201 one of two wirewound 15k 2W bleeder resistors is open. R202 is good at 14.7k.? I wouldn't have thought an open bleeder could result in high

Re: SX-110 2nd IF Circuit Design
Whoops! My bad - that was a typo. It¡¯s a 6SG7 for the 1st IF, and 6SK7 for the 2nd IF in the SX-110. From: <[email protected]> on behalf of don Root <drootofallevil@...>

Re: SX-110 2nd IF Circuit Design
Steve, good work on all this! I think you originally said ¡°a 6SK7 was used for the 2nd IF, while a 6SG7 is used for the 1st IF.¡± == 6SG7 then 6SK7 But now you show from Osterman ¡. SX-110

Re: SX-110 2nd IF Circuit Design
The pdf suggests that the change was to affect the AVC. Could be.? The 6SK7 has minimum bias of about 3 volts and cut off bias of around 50 volts,? the 6SG7 range is from 1 volt to about 20 volts so

Re: SX-110 2nd IF Circuit Design
Hi Richard, For the order of the CSR-5A RF tubes, absolutely not. Makes no sense (intuitively) to me also, but that¡¯s how it was done. It is a fairly rare receiver compared to the other ones made in

Re: SX-110 2nd IF Circuit Design
Richard getting off topic a bit but you raise the question of coil losses: are these due to the /any coil form material and its dielectric loss or a mixture of that and coil stranding, coil wire

Re: SX-110 2nd IF Circuit Design
I have not looked at the CSR 5 handbook but suspect you have the order of the RF reversed.?The other tubes , like the 1853, are really not like the 6SG7.? They were designed for wide band television

Re: PS-150 PS voltages
I should also add (after my HT45 Loudenboomer power supply experience) that if you do not have a load on a choke input power supply, the voltage can measure pretty high. -- 73/Rick WA6III

Re: PS-150 PS voltages
Howdy, You might consider putting a variac on it and loading both the high and low voltage B+ to see where they are.? I have found that modern line voltages do increase the output voltages a bit. --
