Hi all,

Air NZ is using the excuse that they are trying to check to see if the “standard” weight has changed. They did weigh passengers to and from Samoa a year or two back but after ?political pressure that was stopped.

Roatan Island

ROATAN ISLAND

House
is located at WEST END...on the southwest area of the island. Quoting a travel site: If you are looking for a place to stay that combines beaches, leisure activities and fun nights out then head to West End.
Portland to Roatan via United or American? via Houston, $1,000-1,200 rt in July, $200 less in January
Current rate
: About $3,900/week/$560 each for 7
Weather: High 80s in June and July/Low 80s in January and February

DX Lodge Roatan is a competition grade ham radio station designed for top performance, reliability, and flexibility. The home of HQ9X.

5 bed/4 bath & private pool★Comfortably sleeps 10★Covered outdoor deck/dining with BBQ★Free A/C, parking, and WiFi★Fully equipped kitchen★A few minutes from beaches, dining, bars, and shopping in West End, West Bay, and Sandy Bay.

The space

Roatan, off the mainland coast of Honduras, is a slice of heaven. Sufficiently rare DXCC entity and WPX prefix to drive endless pileups, yet not rare to the point where pileups are unruly and difficult to maintain good run rates.

The station supports SO2R, Multi-Single, and Multi-Two entries.

DX Engineering Skyhawk on a 50’ tower (total of 200’ ASL) that offers outstanding pileup busting performance on 20, 15, and 10 meters. This is a high performance 10 element tribander, with no traps or loading coils. 3 full size elements on 20 and 15 meters and 4 elements on 10 meters.

Full size verticals on 80 and 40 meters, each with 32 radials.
Inverted L on 160 meters.

Reliable Yaesu G-1000DXA rotator controlled via Green Heron RT21 controller (and via computer using a USB cable)

Quick and easy antenna switching and sharing between the two operating positions using Array Solutions/Hamation 2 x 8 switch and switch controller. Each radio can select any available antenna. Switch wiring emphasizes antenna separation. There is an antenna switching chart at each operating position.

The Skyhawk tribander’s feedline is separated into 3 individual feedlines for 20, 15, and 10 meters using a high power VA6AM triplexer. This allows the tribander to be shared by both radios at the same time on two different bands.

RFI and intra-station interference has been minimized by the use of high power VA6AM bandpass filters. Additional coax stubs have been installed at the base of the 80 and 40 meters verticals. Each antenna is fed using high choking impedance current balun and each feedline entering the shack has its own high power common mode choke (K9YC design).

Antenna switching and bandpass filters are all wired on a board in the back room and are switched in when proper band is selected by the operator.

Each operating position is provided with a PL259 coax cable for the linear amplifiers/antennas. To ensure reliable and error-free experience for all guests, guest operators do not have access to the antenna switching and filtering equipment.

Two proven-design and reliable Alpha 99 linear amplifiers with PTT control cable are available, one at each operating position, producing clean 1500W. No ALC cable needed. Each operating position has a chart on the wall with the approximate Load/Tune settings per band.

Guest access

Outside, you'll find a private pool and covered patio; a perfect place to kick back and relax. The clear line of sight from inside the house to the pool makes it easier to keep an eye on splashing children and have a peace of mind.

This home will spark your nostalgia for the simple life. Imagine sitting on one of the 2 decks at sunset and enjoying the stunning colors of the ocean in front of you as the sun goes down. Open the windows to the scent of all the flowers and fruit trees in the beautifully landscaped garden and the waft of sea air. Breathe deep and feel so relaxed. Notice how your stress and worries melt away.

Inside, the sense of comfort, intimacy, and tranquility continues. All five bedroom are a vacation within themselves. Our premium 10-inch memory foam beds will offer the best sleep ever- deep and restful. Each bedroom has its own whisper-quiet AC which can be set to your desired temperature for the ultimate comfort.

The villa couldn’t be better situated, away from the noise and tourist crowds and yet close to everything. There are plenty of activities just around the corner, such as snorkeling, dolphin and monkey encounters, ziplining, horseback riding, scuba diving, to name a few.

A brand-new water filtration system was just installed. Wi-Fi Internet is available throughout the entire property so that you can stay in touch with friends and family back home. The cable TV offers both English and Spanish channels that you can enjoy on the wide-screen TV. Modern washer and dryer are available on premise. We offer a safe for your valuables, a 24/7 alarm system, and private carport with plenty of additional parking for 3 cars.
