I dont’ have things planned that far ahead so a change is ok with me. I am still unsure how international travel will look at that time so keep my fingers crossed. All well in NZ with a new government for the next three years.

This sounds interesting, when they finally open up for tourism.
"Seaview Sunrise
Affordable stay with beachfront bungalows on?Haad Rin beach,?Koh Phangan, Thailand.”

Covid may have finally put an end to the Full Moon parties which had devolved into drunken, drugged madhouses leaving the beaches a mess. Thailand, when they reopen, wants to aim towards more eco-tourism and “medical” (think healthy resorts, etc.) and fewer numbers.

Thanks for the updating Ev.
I wonder how Canada will be handling “new Citizen transplants” from the US if November goes dangerously ;~}.
Not that I relish the cold(er) weather but…

Peter, I envy you your ’travelling’. We, Lynn and I, are trying to figure how we can find some beachfront time away along the Gulf of Mexico for a week or two, but Hurricane Sally has created a problem with that for us. We may have to go east instead to the Atlantic shores if we can find a safe locale.

Thanks Peter,

Yes it seems like one thing after another. The Portland area Air Quality Index is in the red zone (Hazardous) for days. So no outside activities and my dogs are bored to death, but I can't excise them now. I'm packing up our little RV and we are off to the coast tomorrow morning. Air quality is much better there. Our lady friends in Fort Klammath are in a tough spot. We communicated on Sept 12 and a fire was only about 2 miles from their motel. No reply from them since then. Okay, enough whimpering from me.

Hello Ev and PEI operators. Thanks for updating the email address, Ev. Let's hope that you don't need to change it again for 2022!

?

Today would have been my departure date for PEI, but obviously events have changed that. In reflecting back on everything that happened up to this point, I never would have guessed the outcome. The COVID19 issues have changed life for the near future and possibly longer. The only place that did very well was NZ. Now I have another reason to wish that I lived there. But the reality of it all is that we are all alive and can dream about the future...a big blessing.?

?

Mac, Ev I hope that you keep up the dialog with Scott. He's a good guy and a good engineer. Peter, I hope that you meet him on a little DX trip.

Ok, enough Irish chatter. I need to call Costco and inquire about a flu shot. Peter, did you ever go to the Costco in Auckland?

I'll probably do the same. Go out by myself. Might do it with a KX2 or Yeasu 100W (or both).?If I take out my RV, I would enjoy doing both QRP and 100W.?

?

We have friends that run a motel just south of Crater Lake NP and I would like to visit them. So maybe I'll play radio there.?

?

No groups for me. I too am not ready for that. Plus if I go by myself I can take off my mask. The Covid 19 issue may get worse as the George Floyd protests brought large crowds together in Washington, Philadelphia, Portland, Eugene, LA, etc. No sense in worrying about a second phase of the pandemic when the first phase isn't over yet. Was there lots of protests in TN?

On a slightly different note:
What are all you guys planning for Field Day under the current circumstances?

I will probably be doing a park battery/solar oeration somewhere relatively local, but not sure exactly where yet.

A few club members are champing to do a scaled-down event, but no real consensus as to how & where. And I don’t think I’m ready to play with groups who, for the most part, are “mask-intolerant” or otherwise “let’s get back to normal”.
Might be time to relocate again - the Caribbean calls!
