You can disregard my last message.? I think I found out how to create a support ticket.? Hopefully one of us will get an answer. Thanks, Ann

Re: Fastmail Delivery Problems
How would I open a support ticket?? I logged into my account and didn't see anything.? I'm sure I am missing something very obvious.? Would appreciate any info on how to open a support ticket. Ann

Mind you, there is no guarantee that the Groups.io staff has the resources to check every email service that has a hiccup or blockage.? I don't know what percentage of group members use Fastmail but that probably enters into the equation too.

Re: Fastmail Delivery Problems
OK, it looks like I am not "bouncing" yet but there are a lot of messages that show "attempted" but have been unsuccessfully sent/received.? I guess I will just switch to another email account until I can figure out what to do about the Fastmail one. Ann

If the emails to your Fastmail account were being returned to Groups.io, then Groups.io eventually sets your status to "Bouncing" or "Bounced".? If that happened, try this:
?
Go to the webpage for the group, and login (top right corner) if you are not already logged in to your Groups.io account.? Then click Subscription in the column on the left, and check the Settings.? I'm not certain, but I think it is on that page where it gives you an option to Unbounce yourself if you were set to Bouncing or Bounced.? (Note: There might be another place where you need to do that.? Since I am not currently Bouncing, I can't check it for myself.)

Re: Insurance Sub Group
Andy
Mike,
?
If your interest is in Groups.io, it's worth spending some time becoming familiar with it by way of the Manuals.
?
?
The "Members Manual" is probably best for learning how to be a member of other people's groups.

Andy, I was not sure about this Sub-Group subject. Thank you for your explanation. Mike Witt Kennesaw, Ga. 30152 770-203-9896

Hmm.? Well, you might misunderstand how groups work.? Assuming that you are talking about groups at Groups.io....? Groups are created by individuals, like you and me.? If I created a group, let's call it "Job-Search", and if I want to create a sub-group of that which is about Insurance, then after I create it there will be an "Insurance Sub-Group" of the "Job-Search" group.? There may be others too.
?
Click on the "Find or Create a Group" link at the top of any Groups.io wrbpage, and search (upper right corner) for things that interest you.? If I search for "insurance", I see that there are 60 groups that have that word in their name or description.? That doesn't mean they are about the same kind of insurance as what interests you.
?
Sub-groups are usually intended to be subsets of their main group, and closely related to the main group.? Therefore, if I created an Insurance sub-group of the "Job-Search" group, then it might not be about fire insurance.? If another person creates an Insurance sub-group of their "Pets" group, then it is likely to be about pet insurance.
?
?
Don't limit yourself to sub-groups.? There may be a group about Insurance that is not a sub-group, and it may have no sub-groups.
?
The first step is to find the group.? Remember that link to "Find or Create a Group."? The second step is to join that group.? All groups have a button on their "Home" page to "Join this Group" or "Apply for Membership".? That is how to do it.? Alternatively, all groups have an email address for joining.? Look for the "Subscribe" address.

Re: Fastmail Delivery Problems
I too have had a problem getting messages from my other groups to download as emails to my computer.? I was using a Fastmail email account.? I have now gone back to using a Gmail account and the messages seem to be coming through.? Has anyone determined if/when the Fastmail problem will be fixed?? Is there anything I can do on my end?

Thanks,

Insurance Sub Group
Good morning,
?
I am in Job Search mode and want to know more about the sub-groups.
?
Is there an "Insurance Sub-Group"?
?
Could someone help me to join this sub-group or speak to the Leader of this group??
?
Thank you ahead of time.

Re: Fastmail Delivery Problems
Thank you for the reply.?
?
I believe I mischaracterized the problem in my original post.
?
I don't think the messages are bouncing yet.?
?
It appears from the Groups.io delivery history display that Groups.io is attempting delivery, but Fastmail is temporarily refusing to accept the mail from Groups.io, with RC 421.? I have opened a ticket with Fastmail support to ask them to remove the block before the 24-hour block period expires on its own.? (Fastmail had some problems over the last few days, resulting in longer-than-usual delivery queues.)? I suspect that many Fastmail users are affected by this problem.?
?
If Groups.io has a channel to Fastmail admins, perhaps their admin-to-admin request to unblock would carry more weight than mine. |
