"Set Member Subscription Options" did the trick. Thanks! Reid Sayre On Wed, Jul 31, 2024, at 3:13 PM, Duane wrote:

Actually, it might be nice to have an option somewhere to require a "display name" for all new members at registration. You can somewhat enforce that by changing to a Restricted group.? Then you could send a Pending Subscription notice saying what the requirements are.? At minimum, they could include their preferred Display Name in their reply to make it easier to know what to use in their member record.? Then you'd have the option of adding it for them or forcing them to change it before you approve membership. ?

Re: Editing a display name by moderator
I THINK Moderators already? have the right to edit display names, simply by clicking on the name in the Members tab,? then going to the Display Name field and typing. However, for Moderators, there is an option near the bottom of the list of Moderator Permissions called Set Moderator Privileges, which will do what you want. Editing a display name by moderator
Reid Sayre
Subject: Editing a display name by moderator Date: Wednesday, July 31, 2024 2:02 PM Dear Group_Help, In section 11.2 of the owner's manual, it says: "Owners and moderators can edit the Display Name field in individual members¡¯ records (but be aware that members can change their own display names as mentioned above)." Is there a moderator permission to enable this? We have a few folks that joined via the "+subscribe" direction that left the "display name" field blank. "Owner" can fix it but I haven't figured out how to enable a "moderator" to fix it. Actually, it might be nice to have an option somewhere to require a "display name" for all new members at registration. Reid Sayre |

Is there a way to change the text color in a Hashtag? You can only change the tag color, not the text color.? The text color, which will be black or white, can change based on the background though.

Re: Concerning Hashtags
Andy
Yup.? The place to edit the color is on your group's Hashtags page.? Each hashtag has a rectangle with two buttons in it: Edit, and Mute/Notify.? Click the Edit button, then scroll down the page until you reach the Tag Color.
?
I think there is not a way to change all Hashtags at once.

How would I open a support ticket?? I logged into my account and didn't see anything.? I'm sure I am missing something very obvious.? Would appreciate any info on how to open a support ticket. Ann

Mind you, there is no guarantee that the Groups.io staff has the resources to check every email service that has a hiccup or blockage.? I don't know what percentage of group members use Fastmail but that probably enters into the equation too.

OK, it looks like I am not "bouncing" yet but there are a lot of messages that show "attempted" but have been unsuccessfully sent/received.? I guess I will just switch to another email account until I can figure out what to do about the Fastmail one. Ann

If the emails to your Fastmail account were being returned to Groups.io, then Groups.io eventually sets your status to "Bouncing" or "Bounced".? If that happened, try this:
?
Go to the webpage for the group, and login (top right corner) if you are not already logged in to your Groups.io account.? Then click Subscription in the column on the left, and check the Settings.? I'm not certain, but I think it is on that page where it gives you an option to Unbounce yourself if you were set to Bouncing or Bounced.? (Note: There might be another place where you need to do that.? Since I am not currently Bouncing, I can't check it for myself.)

If your interest is in Groups.io, it's worth spending some time becoming familiar with it by way of the Manuals.

The "Members Manual" is probably best for learning how to be a member of other people's groups.
