Yes. Open the member list, and click the "select all" box at upper left (see screenshot). Then scroll to the bottom and select "Remove" from the Actions pull-down menu.
?
You may have to do this several times, depending on your personal "Items per Page" setting.

Hope this helps,

Downloadable Group Members Manual

Is there a full Group Members Manual that can be downloaded as a single PDF?

Re: Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender

Sorry, Pam, that should be "reply option": in the first sentence to you, not "replay option."

Pam: You might try responding to people through the "Reply" (or "Reply All") option at the end of messages (footer that starts "Groups.io Links:") to see if using that replay option also causes the problem you're having with responding through Apple Mail. Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Okay; I just attempted to reply to Stephen, using the regular ¡°Reply¡± tab, and everything appeared correct. ?However, within minutes I received the error message appearing below. ?But, ahead of that, here is the reply I attempted to send, and which prompted the error message.

Not sure what you are talking about. ?I use Apple Mail, and am clueless as to host; not sure what that is. ?I am _not using Reply All; only Reply. ?I¡¯m also just noticing something else that¡¯s a bit strange. ?While this doesn¡¯t appear on _this email, I occasionally receive one that, up in the area where the ¡°To¡± field, the ¡°From¡± field, the CC/BCC line, etc. is found, there will be a line that says ¡°Reply to ¡¡± followed by the email address, which is a link. ?Clicking this link seems to begin a new post, rather than a reply to a previous one. ?I routinely use the regular ¡°Reply¡± tab instead. ?What¡¯s the deal here?

Re: Am getting fed up!

Pam, it would be helpful for us providing advice to you to know *exactly* which email client you are using on your sending device(s) and *which* email hosting service you are using.? Both of those an cause be a part of the problem you are experiencing.? For example, many email clients ¡°remember¡± your past attempted ¡°to¡± email addresses, even those that you mistyped, and may ¡°suggest¡± those to you automatically after typing a few letters when you go to enter an address into the ¡°to¡± field and if you choose the invalid one, well there you go.? Some email hosting services (smtp) do not provide certain security data to the receiving email hosting service (imap/pop), causing the receiving end to reject the sending end¡¯s message¡perhaps something you might not able to solve outside of switching email hosters. ?Again, if you want some help here then best to provide complete information on your environment and procedures you¡¯re using.? This is not to say there isn¡¯t an issue on the groups.io email service end, but a support person is impeded without complete info.

Re: Am getting fed up!

Pam,

This group operates as just that, a group. Private one-to-one conversations are not part of the setup.

You are failing to reply to me because that's not how the group is configured. There is a reply to sender option but it is in the footers, not the mail headers. Please don't try to continue one-to-one, for one thing, I won't be reading my emails for another 36 hour plus!

I can think of only one comment at this point - are you using [Reply] or [Reply All] ? It may well be that your mailer gets [Reply All] wrong? I am confident that this group, and groups.io in general, are working normally and correctly.

best, Malcolm.

I did _not enter it is [email protected], as some have accused me of doing. And, in addition, this doesn¡¯t solve the similar issue I¡¯m having with the iDevices group ([email protected]). And, to elaborate on my reply to the question of whether I use the website or the app: I send email via Apple Mail, which is, in fact, a native app on all Apple devices and Mac computers. When, for whatever reason, I need to access my groups.io account, I do it from the website. I had never heard of a groups.io app, and don¡¯t know if it would benefit me, as I am not a premium member. With all of the issues I¡¯m having with groups.io as of late, and then being falsely accused of entering wrong addresses, I¡¯m almost ready to delete my account which, unfortunately, will end my relationship with a number of groups in which I am a participant, and will also mean the end of a group I moderate. Let¡¯s get to the core of this, so that hopefully these unfortunate things won¡¯t need to happen..

Re: Am getting fed up!

Pam,

The only error message I have seen is the one in your private email to me. The error message said (my italics to delimit the quote)::

From: Mail Delivery System <mailer-daemon@...>
Date: May 2, 2025 at 1:29:10?PM CDT
To: --- your address ---
Subject: Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender

?This is a system-generated message to inform you that your email could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. Details of the email and the error are as follows:

<[email protected]>: host lb01.groups.io[45.79.81.153] said: 510 The group
? ?'help_group' does not exist (in reply to RCPT TO command)

That report is unambigously showing that you, at that time, tried sending a message using "help_group" rather than "group_help".

Your email (below) shows headers:

From: "Pam Coffey via groups.io" < --- your address with '@' changed to '=' --- @groups.io>

That's normal because many sites would reject the message if you were quoted 'correctly' as the sender due to measures introduced in recent years to try to avoid faking of email addresses. An email should use the Reply-To header as specified which will result in the message going back to the group.

That all said, I am mystified as to what your actual problem is, sorry.

best, Malcolm.

Am getting fed up!

Twice, I attempted to reply to your group concerning email replies that comeback as undeliverable. Apparently, there is some sort of issue with the site itself. Pam did then send the rejection message directly to me - but I was out/off-line yesterday.

I think the answer is straight forward, the rejection was saying that "[email protected]" is not a valid address - it isn't, this groups is "[email protected]". My conclusion (best guess) is that you have typed a dud address into your contact list.

best, Malcolm.

Pam
?
If your emailed post was returned, how did you post your first and last messages? ?Via the web UI or the App?

I tried to do that, and that one also came back as undeliverable.

Re: Weird issue.

My best guess is that you need to look (very) closely at the address in the to field when sending.

Taking your post below as an example, it come 'from' "Pam Coffey via groups.io" <abc@...> where the address abc@... has been 'munged' (yes, it's a genuine technical term) to avoid rejection by some of the 'big boys' is the email business. If your mail program, for whatever reason, tries to send a message 'to' that address then groups.io will reject it with the message you describe.

Generally this occurs (in my limited experience) either by using 'reply all' and not checking what has gone into the 'to' field or by using 'reply' in a mail program that ignores the 'reply-to' header.

best, Malcolm.

Unfortunately, the file that is supposed to explain the problem doesn¡¯t come up when I click it; but, what I can determine is that it says that the group with the recipient¡¯s name doesn¡¯t exist. All of us in [email protected] are members of one group. It is not divided into sub-groups, and it is a free group. Other members, as far as I know, are not having this issue. I don¡¯t use any weird email settings; and my account isn¡¯t bouncing, as I receive all email messages that are sent to groups.io and not to a specific member off list. Any idea as to what might be going on, and what I can do about it? When the replies come back, I have to re-formulate them and send them off list to a specific member.
